Giovanni Lorenzo; that's the guy who lost an elininator to Marquez.

    Mora is next for Pavlik.

Pavlik/Abraham is on the dockett for November, and neither guy is taking any chances between now and then. Personally I think that's a good thing, and should not be criticized. It was Pavlik's loss to Hopkins that nixed the January '09 date with HBO. I say, let both guys have their interim fights, and keep both safe until November.

I agree, I was worried about Forrest-Abraham. Because Forrest isn't the type of fighter you should be looking past. Keep 'em safe for the FOTY!
Can't wait for that one. I hope they look excellent in their interim fights as well, just to ramp up the anticpation a bit more, especially because I don't think Abraham has been anything like his dominant best in his most recent fights, so it would be nice if he could go into the Pavlik fight on something like top form.

I'm pretty sure you can't ignore yourself, and unless you can somehow manage that, you'll never be rid of all the patronizing and self righteous idiots who think they can judge who and who is not "worthy".

One of the things I like best about the current scenario is that it gives Arthur over 6 months to **** or get off the pot; either he is a middleweight, or he is not. Ideally he will use this time to revamp his nutrition and training, so that he can be in top form. Even his own trainer said he would have no chance against Pavlik if he looked like he did against Simon. As a Pavlik fan I want this to be a top win, not a win over a weight drained SMW who looks like ****.

Honestly, that's going to be the first excuse should Abraham lose. My personal opinion is that Abraham has just postponing the inevitable and that has had a deterimental effect on his abilities, he would have moved up permenently sooner but is sticking around 160 solely for the purpose of fighting Pavlik. Which is understandable, one fight essentually unifies the division and he can hen move up (or start again) at SM, depending on the outcome.

It been becoming more and more evident that Abraham is having real trouble making the weight, not just against Simon, also against Marquez - those periods of a high guard and inactivity before the trademark flurries were a lot longer, and the flurries a lot shorter, than usual, and his power just carried him through and opponent who really wasn't there to do anything other than not get totally embarassed.

Wright is a feasible fight, as long as he beats Williams reasonably well. Trinidad isn't a particularly viable fight; until he proves he has something left that B-Hop didn't stamp all over he's just a veteran to get boshed around the ring for minimal credit. It would certainly make more cash than Mora, though. I think Arum's just looking to cash in on another easy Pavlik win and leave the riskier fights 'till after they've disposed of AA.

As a boxing fan and a Pavlik fan, I'd rather see the fight made while both fighters are relatively comfortable at the weight and can go at it without excuses or drawbacks. I'd rather not risk a blowout, or AA moving up a weight - that would be a massive waste of six months.

Trinidad is viable for one reason, and one reason only. Money. As a sporting contest, it shouldn't be up to much, and Pavlik should win fairly easily (unfortunately, because Tito is an ATG after all). As for Winky, how many guys actually want to fight someone has skilled and arkward and opponent? Pavlik won't want to face someone like that, so soon after the Hopkins debacle.

Abraham is already past the "comfortable making 160" mark. It's just one of those things. Like Boo said though, hopefully he can make a few adjustments so that it isn't quite as big an issue as it has become in recent fights.

Wright and Trinidad are almost in different eras from Pavlik.
Both are closer to 40 and Pavlik is in his mid 20's.Fights between them are really hard to make.
