I could care less if Pryor was drugged up against Arguello...Pryor is no ROBERTO DURAN...I'd favor Duran by Ko in 14 ..if it was a 12 round fight than Duran UD....but u could make an argument for a ko in 12 easy!!:deal
good point about the mancini fight. if ray, who was so limited technically and athletically and got by on tough (sort of the prototype for vinny paz), gave arguello fits, then duran, even on arguello's best night at 135 would probably be way too much and too hot to handle.
Ray Mancini was limited but very tuff and rugged............. Mancini trained harder than most dudes did back then in the early 80s......... Mancini was not a *****..... He was very beatable, but you'd have to go through hell first......... Based on strength and conditioning, Mancini would give "Arguello & Duran" problems and fits at 135 pounds..... NOBODY ever dusted Mancini when Mancini was young and hot........ Screw his ill-fated 1992 comeback fight with Greg Haugen........... Mancini was shot in '92....... MR.BILL
He peaked against Arguello. Yes, he was still very young and inexperienced, but that was the best perfomance of his career, in my opinion.
Hmmmm... It 'twas a great effort / fight, but I'd say Mancini peaked in his ill-fated fight with Duk Koo Kim in 1982....... And, "Boom Boom" was still kickin' ass in March of '84 when he stopped an overmatched Bobby Chacon on HBO..... Come the 'Bramble' fight of June 1984, Mancini and his style had caught up to him..... Peace..... MR.BILL
Dumb ass started a sentence with "And" lol. You still get high...you stoned lol??? You chasin the draggin lol??? Yeah, you remember me, yet I don't remember you. Unimportant ass lol...
I like Alexis but Roberto would outwork him. I think Arguello would find Duran hard to hit cleanly and once Duran got inside he'd outhustle him.
:goodThese guys love Arguello so much that they think that because he lasted with Pryor, he would last with Duran. Can someone post footage of both fighters at lightweight.
Dumbass spelled "dragon" as "draggin". It's pretty funny how you don't remember my "unimportant ass" and yet you remembered specific details about my previous posts and personal life.atsch Honestly, could you be any more contradicting and flat out stupid? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Aim a little higher next time and save mankind a little credibility. Dumb hillbilly.
Here's an interesting point, as long as we're speculating. There are 12 fights between Fernandez and Mancinni, some of them wars. If Arguello had not screwed the pooch with Fernandez, Duran would have been next. He would have faced a younger, fresher, Arguello than the one that Mancinni fought. That might have made a difference. The wear and tear of so many wars was really starting to show in the Mancinni fight.
