i think Roy and Floyd earlier in their careers felt they paid their dues to the sport...and they did fight anyone and everyone while trying to build their names but once you are able to make those big money fights wouldnt you opted for the big money fights at which most people even though they wine and complain still tune in too see the fight becuase hey its boxing anyone has a lucky shot chance.

Roy and Floyd both have done too much in the sport that some of you say you love to be called the nonsense that goes on in here...do you have to say they are the best of the best no do you have to agree about them being ATG or whatever ranking no but at least acknowledge the fact that they both have fought very good fighters because the champions they beat aren't just cream puffs they beat somebody too...so to discredit fighters for beating champions is to discredit a line of champions in the sport.

I suggest some of you clowns watch Floyd-Gatti and see how Hatton and Cotto are shitting themselves in the stands:lol:

He could of offered them both 90% of the revenue and they STILL wouldn't have fought him @ 140 after that night:deal

    So true.. lol

That's why i can't stop laughing whenever someone suggests that Floyd ducked Cotto... it's hysterical.. IF anything, Arum and Cotto were the ones who were too afraid to risk their perfect record against Floyd.

Here is the proof of what im talking about...Everyone knows that Castillo beat floyd??? Then tell us which round in the first 7 did Castillo win??? In fact name 7 rounds that Castillo won...That was a easy fight to score...Floyd won all the rounds until he was injuried then Castillo came on strong and won some rounds at the end. I think you have it the other way around,,Those that are Floyd haters think that Castillo won the first fight, everyone eles doesnt. I think that the polls done on the subject bare that out...

As far as a prime Oscar beating the crap out of Floyd??? Not likely, seeing that he couldnt beat the crap out of Whitaker...An old Whitaker.

    I agree neither are cherrypickers.

But out of the two if you list those names as fighters Floyd missed then what about Jackson,McClellan,Benn,Eubank,Collins and DM for starters.

For a man of Roys talents 94-02 is not a solid succession of very good fighters. It's very average. Toney aside he didnt fight the best available at any of his weights. For any other fighter thats deemed reprehensible, but Roy gets a huge pass these days.

It would take too long to go into it, but I don't accept that Eubank, Benn and Collins were ever viable fights for Jones. A fight with G-Man was agreed but then he lost to Benn - hardly Roy's fault. Michalczewski there is no excuse for, but that one fight does not balance Floyd retiring when Cotto, Mosley, Margarito and Williams were all ready and waiting for action. And I didn't say Roy's 93-04 was a succession of very good fighters, I said amongst the dross (of which there was a fair proportion) there was a solid succession to be found. Hopkins, Toney, Griffin, Hill, Ruiz, and the first Tarver win amongst others (Sugarboy Malinga early on, some other decent world champs like Woods). Take Corrales and Castillo out of Floyd's resume, and there's not much left of comparable quality IMO. Neither man was a cherrypicker across their careers, but Floyd was above 135. Roy never created the resume he could have, but he wasn't a cherrypicker (except at heavyweight!). JMHO

this is what you are good at crying:|:|:|

and you don't know **** about scoring a fight, floyd fought him while moving up and even fought him twice. Your hero got schooled for 2 fights:deal

and **** this thread, none of them are cherry pickers, you don't earn multiple belts in multiple divisions, you don't unify the entire division and be a cherry picker:deal
