Fight Night Round 4: Heavyweights That Missed The Cut Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko Rocky Marciano Evander Holyfield Floyd Patterson Joe Louis Larry Holmes http://sports.ign.com/articles/968/968268p1.html
atsch Why cut those guys? They had nearly all those guys on EA sports "Knockout Kings 2000" on the PS1. It was great. That game probably had the best overall lineup of fighters in a video game, ever.
They weren't "cut", they never had the rights to use them to begin with. These idiot writers DO realize that for each person you have in the game, you need to pay them, right?
yo lightweight - middleweight> id rather them spend their budget on those weight classes F*** heavyweight
Good point. Ali, Frazier, Tyson, Lewis, Foreman, that's more than enough big name heavies, where spend all the money on guys like Holmes, Marciano, Louis aswell when they have a lot of other weight classes to fill. I agree, even out the big names.
Well, they were able to sign these guys up for KO Kings 2000. Heavyweights * Muhammad Ali (PSX)/(N64) * Frank Bruno (PSX) * Eric "Butterbean" Esch (PSX)/(N64) * Jack Dempsey (PSX) * Joe Frazier (PSX)/(N64) * Michael Grant (PSX) * Larry Holmes (PSX)/(N64) * Evander Holyfield (PSX) * Ingemar Johansson (PSX) * Lennox Lewis (PSX)/(N64) * Sonny Liston (PSX) * Joe Louis (PSX) * Rocky Marciano (PSX) * Archie Moore (PSX) * Ken Norton (PSX) * Floyd Patterson (PSX) * Earnie Shavers (PSX) * Leon Spinks (PSX)/(N64) * David Tua (PSX)/(N64) Middleweights * Oba Carr (PSX)/(N64) * Julio Cesar Chavez (PSX) * Hector Camacho (PSX) * Oscar De La Hoya (PSX)/(N64) * Roberto Duran (PSX)/(N64) * Marvin Hagler (PSX)/(N64) * Jake Lamotta (PSX) * Sugar Ray Leonard (PSX)/(N64) * Bronco McKart (PSX) * Ike Quartey (PSX)/(N64) * David Reid (PSX)/(N64) * Ray Robinson (PSX) * Fernando Vargas (PSX)/(N64) * Pernell Whitaker (PSX)/(N64) Lightweights * Alexis Arguello (PSX)/(N64) * Mark Johnson (PSX) * Kevin Kelley (PSX)/(N64) * Danny Lopez (PSX) * Ray Mancini (PSX) * Angel Manfredy (PSX)/(N64) * Floyd Mayweather Jr. (PSX)/(N64) * Barry McGuigan (PSX) * Erik Morales (PSX) * Shane Mosely (PSX)/(N64) * Carlos Navarro (PSX) * Sean O'Grady (PSX)/(N64) * Pedro Pena (PSX) * Aaron Pryor (PSX)/(N64) * Danny Romero (PSX)/(N64) Plus Mills Lane as ref. Great line up. Great game. Crash course in boxing history, that game.
But then overall the game was much worse. They would of spent **** loads of money developing this game. Plus with Don King's Prizefighter around, there is competition there, and a lot of guys are going to be under contract in that game and therefore unavailable.
no worries man... in create a charactor mode(which is always in fight night) you can put whomever you wish in the game
Exactly. Hopefully it'll be a lot more in depth aswell. And allow you to put more letters in somebodies name so I don't have to call Floyd Mayweather 'Floyd Mayweath'.
That's why I still play that game once in a while, even if the graphics are dated and it was still button pushing instead of the analog sticks. The gameplay still holds well, and I love the different match ups you can do. And the career mode was great. The training mode was good. (unlocking signature punches after every level. I loved getting JCC's "body blaster" hook) McGuigan vs Danny Lopez was always a bloodbath. They were the easiest characters to get cuts. :yep
IMO, a great boxing game would be something like "The Legends of Boxing", where you start in career mode, and then work your way up to unlock all the legends, with a 'career corner' mode, where you can mix it up with London Prize Ring rules legends like James Figg or John L. Sullivan under those specific rules.
