yeh the roumor was for either of the 2 unbeaten featherweights Lindsay @ Hyland to go up against Cruz. Seen Cruz fight very tough but think either of the boys could out box him but probably just a roumor

Hello ninebar, I think we should all push for an Irish forum. There's more and more Irish posters coming on to ESB[ a lot of them post on the British Forum], so there is definitely the numbers and interest. So its up to us to make it happen.
if there's such a thing as an mma forum within a boxing forum, then we could easily put forward the idea of an irish one...
HYLANDS EURO CRACK PUT ON HOLD http://www.britishboxing.net/news_4482-Hyland-s-Euro-crack-on-hold.html McCLOSKEY'S EURO TITLE SHOT http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/other-sports/mccloskeys-euro-title-shot-14256301.html McGUIGAN FEELS ROBBED AFTER SHOCK DEFEAT http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/s...feels-robbed-after-shock-defeat-14256300.html I was at the Dockers Social Club last night watching the semi-finals of the Ulster championships, and I must say I was disgusted at the decision against young Shane. His opponent McGinley may have shaded the first round, but McGuigan battered the Bishop Kelly boxer all around the ring in the remaining two rounds. Anyone sitting around me thought McGuigan deserved the decision. As much as I love amateur boxing, its results like this that turn young talent away from the sport.
ardy..i have seen a lot of amatuer fights recently where body shots arent being counted properly, did this apply last night ?? seems like a great spot for going to see boxing, belfast.
Young Shane fights like his Dad, plenty of body shots but he was landing enough head shots to win that way also. That result marred what was a great night of boxing. Belfast is the fight capital of Ireland [but then I'm biased ]. Doug you should sample a Belfast fight night for yourself. I can promise, that you will not be disappointed. Big "Rogie" was at the Dockers last night milking the crowd, he got into the ring to display his Commonwealth belt. There's no doubt about it, he is a likeable big guy and had the crowd eating out of his hands.
Hear hear Ardy. The demand for Irish boxing has increased considerably since this thread started in December 2007. With Bernard Dunne's success and the performance of the Olympians allied to the huge potential coming down the line interest is only going to grow. I have noted numerous Irish posters on other sections of ESB who don't post here. If we can attract these in addition to the regular posters there should be more than enough to warrant an Irish forum. Ninebar do you know what is needed to get the ball rolling?
Irish boxing has come a hell of a way over the last 2 years Im not sure id want an irish forum I think the thread is still the perfect thing at the moment. Its a shame the forum on irish-boxing had to be closed down. theres also a good irish forum on boards.ie that some of the posters such as bigears and sbw post on. but yeah lads my painting is half done really excited about it This content is protected
Yeah i didnt want anyone else doing it! really cant wait to get it now and he hasnt even started on dunne or cordoba yet!
