Christ, Roberto Duran was announced at 178 lbs. during the press conference for the 'Hearns' fight in 1984...... Judging by the photo in the Avatar, Duran was indeed fat / pudgy as all hell going into training for that fiasco....:patsch:patsch

It might. I dunno why you think it's soooooo crazy to post that Duran couldn't take it like JCC could. Chavez had an absolute cast iron chin, and Duran has been brutally knocked out. Granted, that was by a very heavy puncher, but Chavez is no little girl when it comes to punching power. Not saying Duran couldn't take a punch, but no - he couldn't take the shots that JCC could take.

Never hurt, never wobbled, just beaten by ATG level fighters in ODLH and Tszyu. Also, JCC fought MUCH better fighters than Barkley ever dreamed of being.

Most of the time your posts are spot-on, but you are REALLY reaching with this one.

chavez would probably crumble as well if he got hit by a hearns right hand at 154.

You gave Duran huge props for beating Barkley, as if JCC never faced that kind of competition. Barkley wasn't all that. The major accomplishment about that fight for Duran is the weight the fight took place at.

Duran started his career at 140, and he got SMOKED by SRL in thier second fight at WW, lost to a pretty ordinary fighter in Kirkland Laing at WW at only 30 years old, got KTFO at jr. middle by Hearns... next to Aaron Pryor Duran is the most overrated fighter in the game.

JCC has a grip of HOF fighters on his resume and he SMASHED most of them. He didn't just beat them, he completely ****ed them up and wrecked them. He was never even staggered in ANY fight, and ate bombs from both KT and ODLH. If Duran wins this fight, it's only because of his size.

I give a flying duck........ Duran was WAY stronger than Chavez...... Chavez could only kick ass between 130 to 140 pounds....... At 147, Chavez was normal... Duran clearly exceeds all that dribble......... Peace.....

    no he didnt

he quit, he didnt get smoked. it was a boring, uneventful fight with ray clowning him.

the only people who claim duran is overrated are those who dont have the ability to pick up on and recognize great skill. he was much better than chavez in the skill department.

so does duran. and he has the better win.

duran smashed de jesus twice when he was focused, smashed palomino, smashed cuevas, beat up buchanan etc.

and greater skill, something you evidently dont see because of your man crush on JCC.

Well, Chavez took Frankie "The Surgeon" Randall's right hand, and we all know Randall's right hand is as good as Hearns right hand if not better:nut

You are either a kid or a guy who is a baby in this game, and just started to watch boxing. You don't know enough about Duran to even argue with. The fact that you said Duran started at 140 only tells me one thing. You might be Mexican, and that you are biased.
