I laugh at 'how great Kessler is' in some of these posts. The guy went the distance with Calzaghe, hardly on his own on that front it he now?

Only little midget boy Manfredo didnt see the final bell after he was slapped too hard on the shoulder and the referee stepped in.You'd have to go back to 2005 for his previous stoppage - when he stopped Mario Veit !

Froch should let Calzaghe go and accept the fight was not to be.

Froch can live with the peace of knowing that Calzaghe didnt want it - even though Calzaghe was most likely winner.

Froch should just concentrate on training - eating good food - sleeping well - enjoying a healthy sex life with his girlfriend - stay focused - fight - earning money - investing in property - and building a boxing legacy - and winning more titles - and seeking big fights - and lead a successful productive life.

Let Calzaghe go Carl Froch - the way to get one over Calzaghe is to build a legacy with a much more true world championship big fights.

Win or Lose or Draw - If Froch seeks and fights the biggest names and fights them in their own backyard wether that be in the united states, japan, china, germany, france, spain, canada, sweden, or Austrilia he will embrass Calzaghe into looking like the local cardiff ice rink champion.

Even though Calzaghe is more talented - Froch can make Calzaghe look like a joking champion who just fought at the cardiff ice rink all his life.

All Froch has to do is seek out the biggest names in the sport and be willing to fight them in their back yard.

Even if he loses a fight here and there - if he can compete with credit against the best then he can stay around at the top and fight more big fights.

I hope Froch over his next 5 fights embrasses Calzaghe's legacy as just a very safe unambtious boring legacy.

For anyone who does wanna read all that here's the short version

    Flint thinks:
Froch should forget about Calzaghe and get on with his life and boxing career, and if he really wants to stick it to Calzaghe he should go out and build a better legacy......

Froch has done what he has to try and achieve the same outcome that Haye did. Difference is Haye was making moves WHILE talking. Now Froch has made his move but it all came much too late.

Why is Froch even thinking about JC now?? Smacks of being a bit thick if you ask me. He needs to concentrate on what he is going to do if Taylor turns up with his game head on. Because if Taylor is up for it he is in for a hard night of fisticuffs...

Froch seems to think that, because JC never agreed to a fight with him, he has a moral victory which gives him the right to say JC ducked him. In reality Froch never earned the right to fight JC, had he beaten Pascal while JC was still boxing then maybe but before Pascal, Froch did precisely sweet FA in terms of world level. (which I think is what Achilles was trying to say above ;) )

Joe Calzaghe should just come back out of retirement, and open a can of whoop ass on Carl Froch.

IMHO, it was silly then and it's silly now. A fighter, whoever they are, has the right to retire at the top of their game without being accused of ducking whoever the latest "next big thing" happens to be at the time (and there's always one). In fact, I wish more top fighters would go the Calzaghe/Collins way. Can't remember who it was but one top fighter once said it's better to have people asking why you're retiring than asking when you're retiring. Like a great actor, always leave the crowd wanting more. Exactly!

Buncey summed it up best when Froch confronted him on the boxing hour the other week. Bunce said that if Froch had got his belt 2 years earlier instead of plodding through his career it would've been Calzaghe-Froch at the millennium stadium instead of Calzaghe-Kessler. It's all about timing and whereas it is right to praise Froch for taking this fight to Taylor first defence up, he has backed himself into a corner by his painfully slow progression and inactivity. He has fought 19 times less than Kessler even though Kessler is younger and has done sod all for the last 18 months. Froch can't be blamed for calling out Calzaghe but he's been doing it for so long with nothing behind himself to back it up record-wise. And that's his own fault

I agree with Calzaghe,Froch should be concerned with his fight with Taylor not a fight with a retired guy who was fighting at light heavy any way.I dont Froch would have had much chance against Joe anyway, certainly not at this stage of his career.Joe has vast expierence and far better skills. He would beat Froch on points,it would probably be boring and one sided and leave Froch in a simillar state as Lacy.

Calzaghe did not pull out of a fight with Froch when tickets were sold for it,he never agreed to anything with Froch.Collins pulled out and at short notice. Why would a man who fought Lacy Hopkins and Kessler be in any way afraid of Froch.Im not a Calzaghe fan at all but think a Froch fight would be an easy one for Joe.

Froch has been calling out Calzaghe since he turned pro and has done jack all to deserve the fight. The Froch that struggled in beating a top 15 fighter in Pascal would have been embarassed by Calzaghe that night.

Oh and i hope Taylor knocks him out
