Dan Rafael: That fight is not on June 13. June 13 only has one TV fight and HBO is not doing Montiel-Morel. I spoke to Arum yesterday and he said it will be on the ppv two weeks later.

The PPV he's referring to is Pavlik vs. Mora.

 

Well Reg I can't help the way I feel, and maybe I should have kept it to myself but if you saw what you thought was a pattern you would call it out also, like the time you went on how you felt Black American don't get the credit that they deserve, you said that because you saw what you felt was a pattern amongst posters here.

 

Well that sucks that they're only airing one fight. I hate when Showtime does it so HBO doesn't get a pass on it either.

 

Another step towards WW unification and an excellent opportunity for either fighter to prove what they went on to prove against Zab Judah. Cotto does well to look for Clottey first and Mosley after he gets those fights/belts under his shoulders and Clottey has another once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to move up and single-out competitors so that he can be there in that one fight that will decide who's who in the Division. I believe Cotto should do to Clottey what he did to dangerous Lovemore N'Dou and that is outpunch him and box to win a clear 12 UD.

 

In this fight Cotto can't get discouraged he needs to hit anything whether it be forearms or elbows to break his man down like he did in his fight against Mohammed Abdulaev, but the task is tougher because Clottey is the bigger man.

 

The pattern you see is only the pattern that you want to see. You claim all I do is hate on Latin or Euro fighters, but that's simply not true. The only times I've criticised Calzaghe for his comments is when he said American fighters are inferior and when he said boxing is dead. Other than that, I've rarely criticised him. I've actually given him plenty of props his accomplishments and even his resume. On the flip side, I've sung Carl Froch's praises when most(even other Euros) hate on him. I've never joined in on the Klit hate parade. I've given Latino fighters a ton of props as well. Hell, I've spent the last few days defending Margarito. You're only coming out with these garbage accusations of me being a racist because you feel I've been over critical of Cotto(which if you really look at it, I haven't even leveled much criticism towards him).

There is a lot of nationalistic/racial bias on this forum and that's to be expected. The ironic thing is that you accuse me of being racist, but I believe your accusations are based on your own nationalistic feelings and not objective reasoning.

Stop trying to act like you've never made the same accusations that I'm making towards you in this thread, so when you were accusing posters of not giving Black fighters their credit that was'nt based on your own ethnic feelings and unobjective feelings to what you saw as a pattern?

I can't believe you're going to now further make an ass out of yourself by not only falsely accusing me of being a racist but then fasley accuse me of being a hypocrite.

I cannot deny that my own ethnicity played a role in my observation. However, I'm smart enough to realize that racial/nationalistic bias does not equal racism. It's perfectly normal and expected for people to be bias towards their own race/ethnicity. Being that blacks make up a small minority of this forum, you wouldn't expect them to get as much credit as fighters who belong to more well represented ethnicities. Again, pointing this out is in no way the equivlant of accusing someone of being racist.

Good question. The last thing this forum needs is people unneccesarily playing the race card and falsely accusing people of being racist. That type of nonsense belongs in the lounge.

I've made accusations of people being biased towards their own race. That's completey different than being biased AGAINST another race, and does not make you a racist. Parents will always stick up for their own kids more than they will someone else's kid. Does that mean they don't like those other kids? Please do not twist my words in order to suit your bogus, ill informed agenda.

You're calling it how you want to see it Benny. If this weren't the case, you would've pointed out all the times I've praised/defended latin and Euro fighters. Instead, you simply told a half truth which help to justify your bogus conclusion that I'm racist. Quit simply put, labeling me a racist was a very ignorant comment fueled moreso by, in my opinion, your own nationalistic feelings rather than any objective reasoning. The fact that you're now trying to throw out a red herring by claiming that I've accused others of being racist(which is false) is pathetic. I seriously hope you don't conduct yourself in such a poor manner with people in the real world. Trust me when I tell you it will only hurt you.
