Good point but it says so much more about wlad and K2 than Haye. We all knew Haye wanted it, he was shouting from the rooftops about it. The contract just speaks volumes!
It is an optional defense. If Haye wanted more money he should have fought his way to become a Mandatory where he would get a bigger purse split do to the rules of whatever ABC organization he achieved Mandatory status in. Haye did not want to fight his way into a Mandatory he wanted a free shot so his pay should reflect that.
