UK isnt PPV. Setanta is not a PPV channel!
PPL are idiots. They're saying Haye is chasing money, and he doesnt really believe in himself. After the Maccaranelli fight he become somewhat mainstream in the UK, he could have stayed at cruiserweight defending the titles in the O2 and getting 6-7 figures each fight. Instead he has moved to the HW division, fighting for less than he would be fighting for at CW and get options on him, yet people still claim he is chasing the money. Anyone who doesnt think Haye believes in himself is crazy after these revelations; and Haye normally makes real predicitons on his fights. Enzo he said it wouldnt go past round 3..Mormeck he said would get up off the floor to knock him out before 10. I tell you, Haye will KO him in 4 rounds.
Haye is doing exactly as he said...chasing the HW title, money has nothing to do with his motivation.

Haye goes after Wlad then big brother Vitaly tries to come to the rescue but has to fight his mandatory. Now when Haye KTFO of Wlad Vitaly still comes to stick up for little brother and furthers their only goal of trying to keep a stranglehold on the division. This deal is **** and only a Klitschko fan would think otherwise. Haye, KTFO out of these robots. You'll get parades in the U.K. and the states!

Uk money is Haye's existing contract with Setanta. No PPV involved. You haven't a clue what you're talking about.

This has to be the worst deal ever in the history of a HW title fight of this magnitude. Credit to Haye for taking it. Wlad must really not have wanted to fight him too badly but Haye is sticking to his guns! An undisputed champion of a division moving up in weight to fight for a title is not at all unusual in boxing history so you Klitschko fan boys are idiots for saying Haye does not deserve the fight. This has happened many times before in boxing.

Very easy to 'outclass' someone at the negotiating table if they want the fight and you don't, which has clearly been the dynamic in this case.

  7. Considering the video evidence - I'd suggest that you learn what David Haye actually looks like - as Haye has yet to mention the contract in any of the mainstream reports.

You may be in a better position than most - are "The Times" Newspaper and Setanta incorrect, and effectively lying? If so - that is a serious offense - Libel. Otherwise, you're now making a statement that could be regarded as defamation to David Haye's character - with NO actual proof of evidence he's even stated this.

Basically then Haye is not getting much more if anything extra if he were fighting a smaller fight? ****, I understand the champion usually gets more money but add the 3 fight obligation plus the option on Haye for his next 2 fights and it's total crap!

I know, it is ****ing ridiculous. The responses to this news are ****ing ridiculous.

"He should be grateful he is getting the chance to fight for his titles"

What a load of bull****. Haye is trying to fight for the Heavyweight Title. The way people are carrying on you would think Haye is fighting for the right to bone Klitschko's sister or something.

    What a crock of ****.
Wlad has already had the contract with HBO..why should wlad give a dime of that Haye

Wlad keeps his TV rights...Haye keeps his.

Haye could have had ticket sales but Haye didn't want to put the cash up the guarantee the stadium in London:deal (this is a FACT)... to much risk..... So Wlad steps up... spends the cash and guarantees the venue so why shouldn't he keep the revenues..

Wlad is on the hook for all costs if the venue losses money not Haye.... Haye had a chance at the stadium but backed away(this is a FACT)... NOW haye has the balls to say Wlad is picking the venue as more advantage.... ****ING BULL**** guys.....

Remember back..Wlad said.."I will fight David Haye in London"

Was a couple of months after Vitali said "I will fight David Haye in London with or without the WBC belt" iirc....

Wow, that is a horrible ****ing deal. It's true that this is an optional defence for Wlad, who has a hard, mandatory fight with Povetkin coming up, and Haye hasn't beaten a top contender (which should be no problem if he's as good as he's made out to be)... but even considering that, you'd still expect him to get something like 20% of the HBO or German money. Not to mention the double rematch (though as a fan i like it).

Props to Haye for signing that shitty contract, but obviously he brought too little to the table to be able to demand more.

Well, he's getting a shot at being the universally the recognized champion and unification. I agree that he should get more, but those opportunities don't fall from the trees daily.

  15. The only other contract I could find that is comparable to the conditions stipulated here is that of Jim Braddock v Joe Louis.

I'll copy what McGrain told me earlier:
