Why have a catch weight? Duran's best weight was 135 and Chavez looked spectacular in his short time at 135. Chavez never looked better than he did against Rosario, which was at 135.

    Duran by competitive decision.

Your right, I was just going by the thread and took a catch weight actually for Duran not Chavez.

Dude, you're worse than a ******* with Duran. When was he ever even HURT?

I remember Duran face first and unconscious on the canvas. I don't remember Chavez ever getting his knees buckled. Stop being a moron. This fight isn't a walkover for either guy.

Randall. If Chavez had faced Hearns at 154 he wouldn't even had made it through the first.

trying to discredit Duran for the Hearns loss doesn't work. Chavez faced some poor opposition to keep his undefeated record and when he finally lost it it was 'given' to him (draw against Whittaker for instance)

Duran faced a World champ (one of the best at the weight ever) in only his 20th odd fight at only 21 years of age, and fought good fighters after that right up until the end. If Chavez had done that he might've suffered the same fate.

I DO think Duran would just walk right thru PBF though.. no problem at all. Like he's nothing. A *****.

Nobody is saying Duran wasn't a good fighter, or that he wasn't an ATG. I think Chavez takes him at 135 but that's not invalidating his entire career. Apparently there are a lot of people who have some serious homosexual love for Duran and can't stand that idea.

SRL would have destroyed him in their first fight as easy as he did in their second fight had he boxed him instead of trying to outslug him, and if he did we wouldn't have to listen to all this mess.

Leonard didn't destroy him in the 2nd fight! he clowned around and Duran gave up, frustrated. You either chose your words wrong or haven't seen the fight.

in other words, he QUIT. Because his feelings were hurt, or he had to take a ****, or something. Right?

While Chavez is struggling mightily with Meldrick Taylor and has to pull out a miracle stoppage at the last second to get the win.....

Duran is beating up Sugar Ray Leonard at Welterweight.....

    Nuff said.

Don't take Bernie seriously, he's about as well versed in the art of boxing as the dog in his avatar is in quantum physics. He doesn't know any better.

Duran on points mainly because of natural size & 1 punch power, he doesnt stop Chavez, not even close but he edges out a close UD in 1 of the best ever fights IMO.
