Aren't Katsidis and Chavez fighting for the WBO #1? Can Chavez still get to number 1 if he wins being overweight???

Good question. I assume he can. I assume Marquez will vacate it, maybe Khan will fight Chavez or Katsidis for the vacant belt, though I doubt if Chavez can make the weight anymore. How much was he overweight, he looked porky when I saw him the other day.

Was only a pound over. I'm suprised the katidis camp didn't make him lose it.

Yeah, but it was in Mexico so I'm guessing the fight was not as close as it said. I still can't find the fight either :huh

Luckily Valero isn't even B class so Pitalua shouldn't have too much trouble.

I think he just means even though he's old he always comes in shape....rather than stylistically, still :rofl

Normally boxrec has fights listed as eliminators if they are one. Chavez/Katsidis is not. That said of course it wouldn't surprise me if the winner DOES get matched up with JMM should everything go wrong this summer (JMM loses out on Hatton, Pac, Campbell and Judah fights).
