    I don't really buy it.
Why would Jean Pascal come up in weight to fight Diaconu? He could get shots at SMW after his fight with Froch.

He has a really hard time making weight and in a t.v interview, he said he didn't have long before he would go up to 175. The journalist who wrote the story normally doesn't write something that not bulletproof...

Good headliner for a Montreal card, I guess? I agree, it sounds like more of a promoter's idea than a fighter's, which is too bad.

A tough one to justify, too. Sure doesn't help Diaconu's profile - it's a lose/lose for him (a win is just over a "non-champ level" smaller guy). A strange idea that doesn't seem to be in the best interests of the fighters.

Okay then,I''ll tak yours and his word for it but let's just see what happens.Anyway if it happens it would be another good fight.Another Froch vs Pascal war would be cool.
Pascal eve missed weight by a bit for his tune-up.....

Yeah, somewhat. It would be a good fight(match-up wise and entertainment wise too prolly) but I'd much prefer Diaconu to land a fight with Glen Johnson or Yusaf Mack and Pascal with a Miranda,Lacy,Green.
This would do I guess, probably ESPN would take it too.

Ah, didn't know about the weight troubles.

Maybe it is a good promoter's use of assets here to maximize profiles of fighters. This is why I don't manage fighters...

I've seen all Pascal and Diaconu fights so far. This is a freaking 50/50. Trust me, if Diaconu come in shape and Pascal is not injure early, this is going to be a freaking FOTY for the first 6 rounds, both fighter always slow down late so it will be a test of will. Very similar career, both sometime disapoint vs journeyman, both sometime look fantastic, both very spectacular, both can take a punch, they have similar opposition (except for Froch), but Henry gave Diaconu hell late too, so they both face adversity.

Small edge to Diaconu..., don't be fooled by is KO record, he freaking bang, more than Froch, but he lack stamina so much that he doesnt have the same pop pass 4-5 rounds. Pascal is not a huge puncher but he is very fast, he will need that quickness as he goes up in weight. I just think that Pascal is too lazy to beat Diaconu, but he might have learn from is fight with Froch. My opinion might change soon, who know ?

    He can't beat Kessler...
    He can't beat Bute...
    He already lost to Froch...
He is not rated by the WBO...

If Pascal has his track shoes with him for 12 hard ones and fast combinations he could edge it but I think Diaconu would win a decision or maybe a KO depends on what happens early on.

I wasn't necessarily talking about title shots but I see your point.

I'm not sure about this one. The reporter is not a boxing specialist. There are questions to be answered too:

Diaconu has to face two mandatories, and Branco is the first in line. What happens with him. The WBC suddenly says to Branco: sorry man, you're out? In that case, Diaconu should face Glen Johnson next. So, the WBC would say: sorry man, you are waiting too?
The WBC reputation isn't very good in that weight division, I think it would be a bad move to do that.

Personnally, I wouldn't be surprised to see Interbox and GYM organize a boxing card together in June. Diaconu could face Branco and Pascal would fight on the same card. That would make some sense. Diaconu against Pascal? I still don't believe it. Pascal doesn't have real weight issues. Bute struggles more than him to make weight and he stays at SMW. We'll see...

Well, it seems I was wrong! Interbox and GYM have confirmed that if both men win today, there would be a championship fight in June. I'm waiting for the WBC explanations...

I think Branco should(and will) get his mandatory position revoked and then Glen Johnson could get the call.George or Mack could be good too.
But I don't really buy this Pascal fight thing.
