Obviously Mitchell was getting older, but he was undefeated inbetween the two Zoo fights and it shows at the very least that, 6 months before the Hatton fight, Zoo was able to perform at level reasonably close to what he able to 3/4 years perviously
If Hatton has that style you describe then how has he been champ at 140 for 4 years and undefeated at the weight? That style wouldn't get him to a British title lets alone a world title.
ok but do you think a guy that was fighting once a year in the threes years leading to the Hatton fight was in his prime? like i said in another post it was a good win for Hatton but that wasnt prime Kostya.
thats his current style i didnt said he was always like that,and the guys hes been beating recently arent exactly hall of famers.
I'd say Zoo ws past his prime but I don't think he was this decripid, semi retired fighter that some people like to make out.
maybe i dont remember but he was 34 years of age and had been a pro for almost 15 years also he was a guy that rellied on his hand and foot speed and it was clear he had slowed down quite a bit by the second KT fight.
Paulie was number 1 ranked by the Ring and was given a great chance of beating Hatton by a lot of people on here before the fight. Of course after the fight he automatically became **** and everybody said they knew he had no chance all along...thats ESB for ya. Talking of recent fights, whats Pacs form going it into this fight at 140? A win against one of the worst 135lb titlists in history and another against the shell of Oscar. Pac performed well in both fights but niether prove a great deal about how he will fare against a good 140 champion. I'm not trying to get at Pac who is a great fighter but he's still got a lot to prove if he's going to win this fight, certainly more than he had to show to beat Diaz and Oscar (who are his only fights over 130lbs). Theres big question marks on both sides for this fight IMHO.
In my opinion i think it's a 50/50 fight. I think Hatton's punch resistance is not what it used to be. We learned nothing new about him from the Malignaggi fight other than he's a bit fitter and he did'nt get tierd, Malignaggi never tested him. I think if someone who throw's bunches of punches at him (As Pacquiao can) then he may well be troubled, even if Manny is smaller. Where as with Pacquiao i can see a nasty knockout coming his way (it may not be Hatton who does it, but believe me it's coming). He was wobbled at Super Feather, and he himself has not been tested at anything above Super Feather. Diaz was a walkover, and De La Hoya lost that fight on the scale's. I'm not taking nothing away from Pacquiao as i respect what he's done, but i think it's been genius matchmaking on his behalf. I would'nt put money on either Hatton nor Pacquiao, i think they're capable of knocking each other out, but i'm looking forward to seeing what happens!
you say manny gave Paulie a great chance to beat Hatton and that after Hatton beat him he became **** but you do the same with Pac and DLH,going to the DLH fight nobody other than the dumb *******s gave Pac a chance to beat DLH and after the fight all you hear is the same people that picked DLH to win talking down Pacs victory. unless Hatton has gone from a limited pressure fighter to a smart and skilled boxer in a couple of months i dont see him beating Pac,and this is not hatin on Hatton its just an opinion.
I think hatton will connect way much more than ODL did and he will also rough Pacman up. I see Hatton winning this by decision. What you say superfuzz is a bit exaggerated I think. 7 pounds might make a small difference but not a lot. It's not like he had to eat like a sumo-wrestler and gain 50 pounds when he fought floyd. Hatton was in top shape in that fight. I'm sure if Hatton came in at 140 vs Floyd we wouldn't see a much differerent fighting Hatton.
lazcano isn't feather fisted he has a 73% ko ratio, and he stunned him, he didn't have him "seriously hurt". and i would bet that collazo has more pop than pac.
i think this fight is a lot closer than most people think, IMO this is the 1st real test for pac above 130 lbs. his power is relatively untested north of 130 and hatton has ruled the 140 lb division for many years for a reason. hatton takes punches to deliver his own so i think the question is wether pac would be able to take the brutal aggression that hatton dishes out. i believe hattons mindset that he is unbeatable in this division would be a factor in this fight. regardless i still hope pac wins!
