Katsidis would be a waste of time.

Golden Boy already said they don't want Diaz to fight Valero right now.

Soto has been mentioned for the summer.

Guzman won't be fighting at 135 anymore. Only fought once since Soto and nothing scheduled.

Chris John? WTF? You want John to get killed. He does not have a lot of power at 126 FFS!

That was a good step up fight for Valero, but he better not hurry fighting the top dogs, the way he's being hyped up by his promoter might fool him into believing its true, and might prove fatal to his career. Take it slowly or he'll end up like Vargas.

Chris John doesn't need power to beat Valero, he is tall, and a quick, durable boxer.

Guzman will fight again at 135 and would be a good styles clash, not just someone who will stand in front of Valero, and he has a very good chin, so who knows?

I say Soto, they should've fought at 130 :good

Soto-Valero is probably a good idea.

    We shall see.

I'm not convinced he can beat those guys yet, he's improving though. But his chin is still begging for an uppercut from Marquez, and once it hits, he aint getting up. Diaz has a better chin than Valero in my opinion and got layed out, so I can only see the same happening to Edwin at this moment in time. He still needs to prove himself and improve his technique & defence, footwork etc.

He's not ready for Pacquiao either. Although he may have more power, I don't think he necessarily has because Pacman has proved his against elite opposition and Valero hasn't, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt he may have more power, he may match him in speed, although I think Pacquiao is slightly faster, but Pacquiao is a more rounded fighter, no longer the one-dimensial fighter he was, with the better technique, better defence, better footwork, more rounded boxing ability and greater experience, and probably has a slightly better chin.

I'd like to see him fight somebody like Katsidis, to show he can knock out solid B level fighters, who are pretty tough, and prove he can take a shot also. Or perhaps Antonio DeMarco to see how he can deal with a tricky southpaw mover, or maybe even Ali Funeka, huge at the weight and big punching.

As Bob said, JMM is a whiner, He cry too much..which is true... They should give Valero a chance.. And let's see if the Dinamita can stop the Venom or the other way around..

Valero v. Katsidis would be war and a good litmus test whether Val can bang with the topdogs. Until then, he can bark at the moon for what it's worth.

90% chance neither Hatton/Pacquiao or even Marquez ever give Valero the time of day.
I say they retire before Edwin ever begins to make a name....
(Unless he goes out & demands the opportunity by fighting a Campbell or Bradley type)
And looking impressive in doing so, even a J.Diaz fight.
(Tho not as much after the JMM fight, IMO Diaz takes Valero)
