His fight with Afolabi was not exactly a raving success so I might be tempted to say whatever he is doing, i.e. carrying (and drinking?) beer isn't working.

For 95% of boxers sparring is critical. Maybe Calzaghe can get away with it, but Enzo evidently can't. And many of the mistakes he made were typical of a fighter lacking preperation. Leaning in and failing to time shots, throwing too many punches..he wasn't aware of his own stamina because he lacked intense sparring...and a brain.

Yup, agree with everything you said. The preparations for the Afolabi fight were ****ed up, that's common knowledge by now and he needs to make sure that situation never arises again. My point is if he goes back and puts the basics right he can get back to where he was in my opinion.

Based on their respective performance one after the other against David Haye - you would expect Mormeck to be a clear bookie favorite to beat Enzo

I think he should just go to British level and rebuild. If he can't beat Rob Norton it really is time to retire. He's probably made a few pounds defending his WBO title on Calzaghe undercards over the years...a nice enough career.

His chin no where near as bad as the many muppets on here like to suggest, however he is finished at world level now.I feel sorry for the bloke as he has never really made any money.

He told Bunce that Ola would never beat him again in another MILLION fights !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So he still seems to be super confident

Blamed the loss on something amiss - and revealed he went to the doctors monday morning for blood tests.

If he is finished then yes it must be disappointing that he never got paid and made alot more money than a world champion should

But least he can leave the sport with his health and good looks intact

Good looks?! He's one of the ugliest ****s in Britain! Even his own mother must hate that face.

Why should a short-term WBO champion fighting shite opposition have been made a lot more money than he actually did? Why??

He's not finished just yet, as he still has a great dig and left hook to the body. I think it's all in the head for poor ol' Enzo.

I doubt there was anything physically wrong with him. His demise was down to poor preparation ultimately. Everybody likes to slate Enzo Calzaghe for this but Enzo Mac needs to take some of the blame too.

Whether he can get back to the top level or not really depends on him now. It does worry me to hear him talk so frequently about MMA. If he really wants to go into that he should do so coz he will have zero chance of getting any further in boxing if he doesn't have the necessary desire to work his way back into contention. It all rests on his head, hopefully he can get his enthusiasum back and we will get to see the real the real Enzo Mac again and not the ghost of him that sleepwalked it's way around the ring in his last fight.

Take nothing nothing away form Afalobi but Enzo is a much better fighter and he needs to get back to proving that in the ring.
