Tommy Gallagher trained Yuri Vaulin, a tall, light-hitting Russian cruiserweight.

Vaulin was matched with Tommy Morrison, who was on track for a title fight, in a main event on national TV. It was supposed to be no more than tune-up for Morrison.

From round one through four, the Russian surprised everyone, out jabbing and out boxing Morrison.

The crowd and Gallagher smelled upset -- the BIG MONEY for Vaulin was in grasp.

Suddenly, in the 5th round, Morrison caught the Russian with a left hook to the body. He crumpled to the canvas and couldn’t beat the count.

The TV announcer jumped into the ring and shoved a mic in Gallagher's face while he ministered to the Russian.

"Tommy, Tommy, your kid was so close to being a contender. What happened?"

"The co#%sucker quit!" Gallagher said coast-to-coast.

Marlon Starling and Larry Merchant after being knocked out by Molinares:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbMWtTP6A2g

Starling: "Do I look knocked out, do I look like I'm wobbled?"

Merchant: "Well you only have to be knocked out for 10 seconds."

    Starling: "I wasn't knocked out, I wasn't knocked down!"

Merchant: "What has your doctor told you, has he told you that he thinks you have a broken leg, did they want to take you out?"

Starling: "I can go another round!"

    ...

    Merchant: "Thank you Marlon."

Actually the girl noise bit from Mike was after the Tubb's fight. He hit Tony with some serious bodyshots there.

Ali after the Thrilla in Manila - We're both the greatest

Or words to that effect. I thought it was very respectful after such a war.

Liston quipped a classic line after getting his jaw broken. Don't know if it was the post-fight interview or later, given that his effing jaw was busted it probably was later.

But he said something along the lines: "I couldn't keep from laughing looking at that clown, and right when I did he happened to hit me."

Cohn has an even better, but I don't know for sure when he said it. But it was on a question of why he tried to slug it out with Louis, and he said something like: "Well, what good is it being Irish if you can't be stupid."

This one is of course known to all of you, but I just love it.

I think this exchange was initiated by Jim Lampley, though I could be wrong.

(to Iran Barkley) "What do you plan to do now after this victory"

    IB "Rob your house."

Not sure if it was right after the fight, but he said something like 'he is the greatest fighter of all-time, after me'

It wasn't said in a cocky manner, quite the opposite, in a respectful way.

Chris Eubank after stopping Nigel Benn 'the man is an animal'

It was **** how the media guy tried to make out like Eubank was slagging off Benn, but Eubank quickly put him straight and told how he meant it as a compliment to Benn's bodypunching power.

British media for you, they knew what he meant and should have just took it as a kinda throwback pug line.

He did but there was no way any impersonation could do Tyson's example justice :lol:

We should've known then that there was some problems with Tyson
