Um, not sure what you're on about.

Tszyu was old and inactive when he fought Hatton. IMO an even near prime Tszyu beats Pac, and Hatton too.

at 140, Tszyu is leagues ahead of Pac.

Nope. Beating pac has nothing to do with it.

I'm not on about anything. The question was not loaded in any way. Thank you for your answer.

I didnt know he was old an inactive. But... He is not leagues above Pac. Pac beat the bigger names and had the sensational knockouts.
but i will give Stzu one for the most showcased knockout in history

But to answer the topic we knew what kosta was he was a hard punching sob. that not many people could handle. I tho ricky would get destroyed by him.

People just seem to forget. Get caught up in talking crap and dont remeber how Ricky put his skull on the line for our entertainment. Because I swear Kosta hit him with some Brain Bashing crosses and hatton kept coming like a machine. and this is the reason why I thought Floyd wouldnt beat Hatton. I dont like ricky by the way Im a floyd fan. But I couldnt beleave how ricky took kostas shots and floyd shots disrupted him.

going on that logic then saying that Tszyu is ahead of Pac at 140 is like saying Tszyu is ahead of Mohammed Ali at 140. Its ****ing ******ed.

Nah, I already have a healthy appreciation for Hatton (hijack). I was a major Tszyu fan when they fought, and Ricky proved to me just how remarkably effective he can truly be that night. Not myself, nor anyone else on Tszyu's forum, were saying that Kostya was past it at the time. He CLEARLY was not. It's just another HORSE**** excuse to discredit Hatton taken up by certain revisionists and people looking for reasons that don't exist to find a rationale for their ideas. Who could have handled Hatton that night? Who?? Anyone? Any style? I already know most people can't see for **** - but there are alot of smart people who just don't like Hatton's punk ***** mother****ing ass. :rofl 'Hatton sucks' is a movement.. OMG! ROFL! (wank) Oh, and Tszyu? My opinion is already SKY HIGH. Can't get any higher. Besides, styles, strictly.

Yes. Hatton beating Pacquiao will elevate my opinion on Kostya Tszyu. Which will in turn elevate my opinion on Julio Cesar Chavez thusly elevating my opinion on Meldrick Taylor then Buddy McGirt until everybody west of my uncle's postman becomes a better fighter due to Hatton's victory.

Not really, mainly because Kostya Tszyu had some ring rust and was starting to age a bit. It seemed "father time" as Ken Norton put it started to affect him a little. It was still a great win for Ricky and Kostya was still a great fighter but I dont think beating Pacman has much of an affect on how ppl will view Tszyu.

He'd fought 3 rounds in 2 and a half years before the Hatton fight, and was 35 or 36.

To be honest, I thought it would be a tough fight, but I thought Kostya would win. Still think he would have if he'd boxed smart, but all credit to Hatton, he fought as well as he could that night IMO.

Still think the question is a bit crazy. My opinion of Tszyu won't change one way or another. That fight was 4 years ago. Hatton is a different fighter, 4 years removed from the one that fought Tszuy.

it seems to me that this upcoming super-fight between hatton and pacquiao is hard to compare to hatton's rough and tumble dethroning of the elder kostya.

in tszyu v. hatton. kostya and hatton fought in different--but still essentially aggressive, straight-line, forward-moving, grinding, rough-and-tumble---styles. hatton's youth and freshness definitely played to his advantage. kostya struggled to find his range and seemed to frequently overshoot or undershoot hatton as ricky moved in and out working low, slugging to the ribs and hips and then coming up to hook to the head and pop short shots on his way out. and, in the end, kostya seemed to give up as an act of self-preservation, whereas hatton seemed to be willing to die for glory that night.

it's hard to compare such a contest to hatton v. pacquiao...in which we have two fighters who are, arguably, at something like the same general points in their careers...neither one willing to give up the ghost at any point during the upcoming scrap. manny and ricky also have a really weird clash of styles here. manny, swooping side to side and then shooting in with a lead, straight left at angles and hooking off to other angles, and ricky doing his same old routine, albeit probably sticking with some of his newly rediscovered head movement and efficient accuracy with the right jab as a defensive shield and offensive smokescreen to hook off of to go to the body and shoot straight rights behind.

in any case, apples to oranges. pacquiao has grown into one of the better figthers of his generation. hatton is surely one of the toughest and most determined fighters of his time--and has shown a surprising, late adaptability with mayweather in his corner and in the gym with him.

ricky's victory over kostya is a superlative, big heart, brass balls victory that stands on its own merits with ot without a victory over manny pacquiao.

that said, i really doubt hatton is going to have an answer to the speed of pacquiao. i think his chin will hold up as long as his will does against the naturally lighter man's arsenal, but i expect ricky to get beaten up nonetheless.
