I really miss him, good referee. "Let's Get It On"

    What made him so good?

    Hi Farmy.

I think Mills was a Lawyer before he got into refereeing, so perhaps he was used to dealing with unpredictable sorts. That would stand him in good stead.

Do you think he should have disqualified Tyson after the first bite?

I think he gave him the benefit of the doubt. So, I was glad he did not stop it then.

I think Mills was a judge. Miss him.

I am pretty sure he died. He also was a promoter right before the stroke called, "Let's get it on" Something like that. He was treating his fighters well, being fair.

Glad to hear that. I thought he had died, but am so glad he is still alive.

We sure could use him today.

Mills was ok, but watch Hearns/Kinchen and you see his limitation of being too small. Hearns grabbed onto Kinchen after being hurt and Mills could not break it well.

He's definately up there. Had a really interesting life. Hell of a man, even though he was small he just had that look that told you don't mess.

He is still alive, but, the stroke has left him somewhat incapacitated. They had a segment on ESPN on him during Friday Night Fights a few years ago. Had trouble talking. Didn't have full use of both sides of his body. Sad.

He has a boxing promotional company in Reno with his son I think. His son was on the ESPN segment as well talking about that in addition to the stuff they did on Mills.
