I honestly think that wont happen......JMM makes more money fighting Hatton than he does Pac.....and the Hatton fight will be for Mexican boxing history....no Mexican fighter has ever won titles in 4 different weight classes!

Its really simple mathematics......even in a losing effort, Pac alongside the bafoon that is Bob Arum, will still demand Pac get a much bigger chunk of the purse...so that scenario just is'nt going to make sense to either JMM of GBP who promotes both JMM and Hatton.

From here on in, its about money fights for JMM, and that spells Ricky Hatton if Hatton is sucessful vs Pacquiao!

If Hatton beats Pac then the obvious smart choice for MArquez is to fight Hatton. If JMM then beats HAtton then in a way he avenges his losses to Pacquiao in a similar manner that Hopkins in a way avenged his losses to Taylor by beating Pavlik.

Marquez will spark Valero and go on to fight Pac a 3rd time....Valero-JMM is 60-40 in Marquez's favour...I can see Valero hurting Marquez, but being sloppy trying to finish and getting a beast of a counter shot.

FINITO and Jeff M will disagree, but come on, Marquez is ten times the finisher Valero is, watch how he finished Juan Diaz and Casamayor and watch how Valero finishes his substandard opponents, a sloppy barrage that is undeniably powerful, but so inaccurate that trying to finish the likes of Marquez off will be his downfall.

Shame, as he has shown (in the 1st KD with Pitalua) that he can genuinely bang, just ruins it with shoddy finishes.

I think valero/marquez is likely to happen since arum already stated that valero "the best lightweight in the world" wants to fight marquez anywhere, any place, any city in mexico that he wants.

Aside from a few mentions from camp Hatton early in the preparations for this coming fight, I haven't heard Ricky wish for Marquez as his next fight. It's all about a Floyd rematch.

You're probably right, Marquez will earn much more in a Hatton fight than in a third go with Pacquiao, considering Pac's camp's "disclaimers" once again of "if the price is right" whenever the third fight is brought up.

The question is whether Hatton wants Marquez. Will HBO cough up the kind of money Hatton is accustomed to getting?

It dont work that way.....styles make fights, you know that PH|LLA......

.....in any regards, when you have more fightfans of the opinion that JMM won that Pacquiao rematch, it does'nt really need avenging.

"I want to fight the best!".....those are JMM's words after he beat Diaz.....if he sticks to that statement, then he fights in no particular order, the winner of Pac-Hatton and Mayweather Jr......

If Pac beats Hatton, a Mayweather fight is more likely for JMM imo than a Pac fight........of course, the worst case scenario is that JMM gets screwed and Pac and Mayweather can actually agree to terms financially, which is the reason I believe that there is a chance that Mayweather will fight JMM, if Pac does'nt take less than a 50/50 split for a proposed Mayweather fight.

For JMM, the best case scenario is for Hatton to win, as he then gains some bargaining power against either Hatton, Mayweather, or Pac.

For those that are interested, I'm a fan of and enjoy watching fight both Pac and Hatton, but I've got to say that I'll root for Hatton (though honestly I do think Hatton will win regardless of rooting interest) as it benefits JMM for Hatton to win.

Arum can spew what he wants......but the only way a Valero fight happens is that Pac beats Hatton......Mayweather is unwilling to fight JMM.....

If those two scenario's happen, a Valero fight is feasible if Valero takes about a 85/15 split of the financial purse.

Bob Arum has financially screwed JMM many times over, this would be JMM's opportunity to screw Bob Arum!

Now that I think about it, a 90/10 split in JMM's favor sounds even better.

The turd that is Bob Arum will say that JMM is pricing himself out of the fight!:lol::yep

Thats not going to work........GBP and JMM already got screwed in a similar type deal with Arum......

Arum had agreed in a settlement of who had the rights to promote Pac, that Pac would fight the winner of JMM-MAB....and Arum and Pac renaged on that deal by insisting to fight the loser (MAB) first!

Arum is a lying turd, you cant take him at his word.

tailor made??? WTF!!! Valero and old pac has the same fighting style, but valero has both power in his hands..If the one-dimensional pac manage to have a draw with JMM, i think Valero could knock JMM out cold and put to retirement.....

As for Pac-Valero, I think pac has the advantage coz he is smarter now and have improved his skills alot....But if someone could improve valeros footwork, head movement, defense, I think this would be a very difficult fight.....

I dont see any reason why Hatton would not fight JMM.....Mayweather would demand more money than JMM.....and quite frankly, I would think that if Hatton beats Pac (especially if its convincing) that Hatton would be confident he could do the same with JMM.....

.....moreso confident that he would to avenge his KO loss to Mayweather......

I would think if I'm Hatton, I'd fight JMM first, with my end goal being to end it vs Mayweather......
....its just the better avenue for financial success for Hatton.

Mayweather is always going to be a ***** at the bargaining table, a JMM fight would be alot easier to make seeing that both are promoted by GBP!

If....If....If Hatton wins, I do too think he will fight JMM first..Since he wants to become P4P#1, and by beating top 2 P4P, I think he will accomplish his "DREAM" !!! And then fight floyd before retiring..:good

Maybe, but HBO would need to cough up some serious dough for a Hatton-Marquez fight. If HBO does, that fight will be made.
