Chagaev-Valuev 2. At last!

    The World Championships Committee of the World Boxing Association has called for an April 13th purse bid for a heavyweight championship fight between WBA champion Nicolay Valuev and champion in recess Ruslan Chagaev. Minimum bid is $1 milllion. The purse disbursement will be 55% for Ruslan Chagaev and 45% for Nicolay Valuev. The bidding will take place at 6PM at the at European Boxing Association office in Vitoria, Spain, and be directed by Bartolome Torralba. The bid will be monitored by WBA executive vice president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza via internet video conference from Panama City, Panama.

    And the fight should take place during three months after the bid, it's July 13th.

    Klitsckos, Chambers, Meehan called out for Valuev, but it ended i the way it should end, so in three months there would be a sole WBA champion (lets hope there wouldn't be a draw!!).

    some thoughts about the winner and the next opponent of the WBA champ (Vitaly wanted Valuev, Wlad has the fight with Haye in June, Ruis appointed by WBA)?

    That is not news. Watch, nobody will come up with the minimum or something else will happen for them to hold up the belt for anther six months or more. It is ridiculous.

    Not until a Klitschko gets beat/retires. This is why I'm rooting for Haye, even though I have nothing against the Ks and think Haye has about a snowballs chance in hell. The Klitschkos are just gumming up the works with their dual title gimmick and it's pretty lame.

    I think he should get Vitali...I mean Wlad has a fight lined up and the other champ is Vitali so they should unify..2 champs is better than 4!

    you really think there will be a sole WBA champion? Are you familiar with the WBA. They'll find a way to get a super champion or something else out of this ****ing mess.

    it's not a problem of WBA only. But the fact is that there aren't so much good-known boxers, and most of them have a good chance to win against Chagaev or Valuev, so in 2-3 next fights after this one there definitely should be a change of the WBA titleholder(s).
