I would love to know how someone (David Haye) who admits that he has to kill himself and starve to make Cruiserweight would be a "blown up" Cruiserweight? If anything, he is a shrunk down heavyweight when fighting at Cruiser. David Haye walks around in tremendous physical condition over 230 pounds. He entered the ring against Monte Barrett the same size as a Prime Foreman or Ali.
Everyone should just be happy there is a fight happening at HW worth getting excited about. If it flops, oh well. The smaller divisions have been providing plenty of excitement without needing the HW division. If it does well it's a big boost. If not, boxing is fine without it. If Haye sparks the robot, it'll be the best thing for boxing!
I don't believe people saying Haye is too small. That's dumb. He's at his proper weight now and should only be better for it so that's no excuse! If Haye wins I'll be thrilled. If he would lose, I just hope it brings out the best in Wladimir and he shows he can be exciting. I want Haye to push him, win or lose and really that would be a win for boxing as well.
I can imagine the Wlad excuses though when the Hayematrix puts his ugly robotic arse to sleep. "He was poisoned!" :rofl
Now now Tommy, Wlad never actually said that, that was some of his extreme fanboys, to be fair to the robot.:rasta
That too! But that is still left to be seen. Haye, from what I can tell is pretty solid technically...so is Wald. Honestly HW's aren't really as skilled as the smaller fighters who have to rely mostly on skills to win where HW's can' rely on their size and power to get "W's" under the "WIN" columns. Who is the better boxer? IMO I think Haye is.....but not by much and with Walds advantages I see him beating the ambitious David Haye come June 21st.
whats exciting is that it will only take one big hit from either of them and there opponents legs will turn to jelly.
So he dieted to keep his weight unnaturally light, just like every serious fighter sub-heavyweight must do. He spent five and a half years as a pro at cruiser, and one (techincally two) fights at heavyweight. He's a heavyweight now, but I don't see much false or misleading about saying he is also a blown up cruiserweight. His body allowed him, at a younger age, to make a weight that a natural heavyweight simply cannot. It's not about an excuse, it just is what it is.
