Then Jones thoroughly outboxed and embarrassed Toney in the ring. I was a big Jones fan around that time.

Im still pissed at Toney, for being so ****n arrogant and not training properly. He robbed us of what could have been one of the best, stylisticly, fights of all time.
And he still hasnt learned. He came back again with so much potential and then just blew it all over again. Toney will go down as one of the "could have been great" fighters of all time.

Toney trained just fine. That's just an excuse. Toney's style NEVER beats Roy.

Roy's style was all wrong for Toney. Agreed.

Toney was eight drained etc.....Amazing that Jones isnt allowed to use that excuse @ ther age of 35 coming down from 200lbs..

What about Jones right hand, he hardly used it....apparently it was broken.

All the great super talented fighters are terricly composed under pressure, Jones was a a master at staying relaxed during a fight. Same with Floyd.

    " Toney trained just fine".

Your statement is completely incompetent and shows that you never actually watched the fight. Toney looked in terrible shape, no comparision to the Toney who beat Barkley or Tim Littles at the same weight.

He could have achieved more but on the other hand he has achieved enough to become an ATG even if he never will be a TOP ATG. Beating Jirov and his run at heavyweight secured that place.

Toney might beat Jones now if they fought at heavyweight
