Does anyone remember a terrific battle between Stevie Thomas and Marlon Thomas way back in 1992?
I believe it had an extra edge to it as both the guys hailed from the Detroit neighbourhood.
Both went at it, hammer and tongs, with Stevie having his arm raised after 6 torrid rounds of non stop action, which, if my memory serves me right, included a few knockdowns, and some serious infractions by a very determined Marlon, who came close to being thrown out by a busy referee.
A pity there was never a return bout, as I'm sure they could have filled a decent sized arena to stage the sequel, with the added kudos of local 'bragging rights' making it a really mouthwatering prospect.

Anyone else have any memories of this particular barnstormer?

Rosario/Randall (topping a Lawless bill at the York Hall!)

    Short but sweet: Liles/LittlesII; Garza/Meza....

    McAuley/BassaI was brilliant

    Foster/Finnegan (Chris)

The two Hagler/Finnegan (Kevin) fights are supposed to of been wars.

People cannot shut up about the Gatti/Ward trilogy, but overall IMO the two Gatti/Robinson fighters were better.

Chavez/Rosario may of been the best one sided fight ever.

Holyfield/Dokes was as good as any Heavyweight fight post Norton/Holmes

the recent thread about bruce curry vs monroe brooks made me go to see it on youtube and that was great fight from yesteryear.

the polor opposite situation of good friend that turned out to be a great fight (so i heard) was simon brown vs maurice blocker.

caveman lee vs john licecero, nigel benn vs iran barkley and evander holyfield vs ricky parkey where some great forgotten shoot outs.

Pettway/Brown was if not the most brutal, a very, very scary KO.
