Anyone else think Kotelnik is to much to soon for Amir Khan. Must admit have only seen his fight with Gavin Rees (punches like he's related to Paulie Malingagi) but he's got some serious skills. Just about to watch his last fight beating the undefeated knockout artist and he also came close to apparently beating Junior Witter. Plus he can bang, which doesen't really matter when fighting Khan. If he's the underdog im definatly betting on him.
this fight is made for Khan, Kotelnik has got less power than MAB, Khans only real weakness is his chin. Khan win UD.
http://www.birminghammail.net/birmi...-sky-tv-deal-is-not-good-news-97319-21588849/ "Khans next opponent, the undefeated Breidis Prescott, is a 25-year-old Colombian with 17 knock-outs in 19 professional fights. They meet in Manchester on September 6. Khan said: Im really excited to be boxing on Sky and I cant wait to put on my best performances for the viewers tuning in." :rofl Man... that hurts my ribs...
I stopped reading after "people like you are so sad". Have no time for posters who feel the need to get personal.
If he is targeting his bright future that he is right on track. The only problem with him is whether his chin is going to hold up the expectations.
I don't think its too soon. Look at other fighters, namely Prince Naseem, they were fighting and beating quality opponents. I think Khan will win, sticking my neck out and sayin late KO.
Another well crafted move by Warren. The easiest fight to take, to gain that beating a top 10 credibility. So the Prescot rematch was all talk just I said it was.
I probably would have preferred one more fight for Khan against a 135lb contender but all in all its not a bad fight for Khan. Khan has got great skills and i know he has only had one fight under Roach but judging from the MAB fight he is now showing more composure and mental focus to stick to the game plan. His only major flaw is his chin, but unfortunately there is no way to strenthen that. The only way he can stop getting KO'ed is to protect that chin which he seems to be doing better at under Roach. If he had a decent chin i would throw him in with Guzman, Campbell, Diaz, Valero, Katsidis, Casamayor or Bradley right now as i believe he would be good enough to win or at least be competitive. However at the minute i don't know if he is good enough to beat these guys. A couple of more fights under Roach's tuteledge and he should be ready. People like Katsidis, Khan could probably box rings around, but just one mental lapse and he could get brutally KO'ed again. With that in mind i believe Kotelnik is the right level. He is a good fighter that will give Khan problems and keep him on his toes but not good enough to out box Khan. Plus Kotelnik isn't a big puncher. If he hits Khan cleanly he probably will KO him but any non-flush shots won't seriously **** up Khan like some of the more powerful hitters could. At the end of the day Khan can out box most fighter's in and around his weight division but he is one flush punch away from being KO'ed regardless of who throws that punch so he has to show 100% mental focus for the full 12 rounds to stick to the game plan and keep his hands up to stop from getting tagged. The only way he can show this is by fighting increasingly harder opposistion that are good enough to keep Khan honest and stop him from getting cocky and losing focus. Kotelnik is a good opponent for this stage in Khan's development.
No, it's not. Khan has the skills to compete against some top-level guys, and he's already been KO'd by a gatekeeper level guy with a "decent" punch. Khan's career will be a short one, I'm sure of it... it's better to lay it out on the line from here on out with fights that matter. If Khan get's KO'd by another fringe guy, the money train is officially over. If Khan can win a belt and a couple fights, he can bank on that money. It's like they are playing a game of Let It Ride and letting it ride till the end hoping to score a nice hand. Fighting Prescott again financially makes no sense, not now. It's a business first-and-foremost, and you need to take your chance when it's hot. Way too risky to fight meaningless fights anymore.
