A prime Kostya Tszyu at 140 would have wiped the floor with Cotto

    probably wouldve been pretty competitive.

i dunno if tszyu would have wiped the floor with him, but you can certainly make a case for him winning.

I think Tszyu would've lost some rounds but knocked Cotto out

If little Corley put Cotto on ***** street I think Tszyu would send Cotto to the moon with a big straight right.

Nobody could exploit a hole in the defense like Tszyu could, and I think that Cotto being more of a boxer puncher as opposed to a pure swarmer would work against him since Miguel's not the type to smother a fighter by being right in his face. He likes his range, and although he's very dangerous in it, that could get him in big trouble against Kostya.

Good fight. I'd favor Kostya to win, but there's a great chance he'd have to come off the deck to do it.

You know Cotto handled Randal Bailey easy enough he hits as hard if not harder then Tszyu I say Cotto wins a good fight. Makes him quit like hatton did by going to the body.:bbb

Tsyzu would've starched Cotto at 140...Cotto was struggling to make the weight and Zoo had too much pop in that right hand that would hit the target all nite until stoppage...

Power is useless if you can't deliver it to the target. Tszyu's timing and accuracy were something to behold in his prime. Combine that with Cotto's shaky chin at 140 = Cotto waking up with a flashlight shining in his eyes.

Cotto a better boxer than Tszyu? I don't think so. Tszyu was an amateur world champion, one of the best straight rights and hooking off the jabs that you could find. Every punch in the book on his best nights and a highly underated bodypuncher.

And Randall Bailey hits harder than Tszyu? Miguel Gonzales fought De La Hoya and Tszyu back to back and said Tszyu hit harder than DLH. You'll struggle to find more post-fight interviews with opponents saying 'I've never been hit that hard' than Tszyu.

I don't actually think it's as close as people are making out. Cotto wouldn't last long ... he was shaken often at 140 and Tszyu was one of ... if not the best ... 140 finisher in the game.
