You'll see it when he faces someone who is willing to play the aggressor against him. As a matter of fact if GBP is willing to put Juan Diaz in with Valero you'll see plenty of counter-punching from Edwin. However, with that face first pressure style Diaz brings to all his fights I highly doubt he'll last more than 3-4 rounds against Valero at best.

I've seen Valero against aggressors in a couple of his Venezuela fights. If you think throwing blindly at the same time the other guy throws blindly counts as brilliant counter-punching, then sure he's JMM with a brain injury. If you don't, then he's Valero with a brain injury.

Going up against a real puncher with that head of his could turn deadly in a way that stains boxing for a long time.

Ive been to live sparring session of Valero like 5 years ago and i got to dissect his game and study him close up.. This whole " valero is a crude one dimensional puncher " is total bullhonky and alot of people are going to eat their words later.

When he was fighting in Japan under Teiken, his promoter made him a deal that he'll receive a 100k bonus for every first round knockout.. So knowing that he was facing limited competition, he just went for broke and took them out quick to receive that bonus.. He didnt need to waste time with the technical stuff because he knew they were no match for him.. so why not finish them quick and collect the bonus??

But now that he's under Arum, trust me, he'll start stepping up his game... U think arum is going to baby him?? I dont think so.. If he wants to turn valero into a star which im sure he's trying to do, then he'll have to fight somebody and when he does run into live bodies who'll fight back, then you guys will see the other dimensions of his game..

Trust me, Valero isn't a crude brawler..
