    I knew someone would mention this - but I disagree. Williams was a notoriously vicious fighter; he wasn't pleading, he was just shocked that the referee hadn't stepped in. He almost expected the fight to be over there and then. When he realized the fight had to continue, Williams had no problem resuming his attack with the same intensity.
