Yeah that was brutal. The guy Villa was in agony with his wisdom teeth but fought anyway as the crowd had all arrived. So they inject a dose of cocaine into his cheek and he fights. Apparently the medicine was punched all around his head in the fight (which went at least 10 rounds, I forget) and three days later when he's going for a throat operation, he dies under the ether.
Is that the filipino villa? That died in his 20s. Heard about him , amazing character. Does anyone know anything about simon o donnell. Is he any good? I heard his one loss was devestating. He hasnt fought since last year.
ODonnell was getting the star treatment until his KO, but hes good. He fights on itv4 on saturday.A tough one against Craig Watson. There saying if both ODonnell and Haughian win on saturday, they could fight each other on the Mccloskey v witter undercard in june.:thumbsup
Thats a tough 50-50 fight but Lindsay can do it, and continue the good run for Irish fighters. Im not going to Belfast for this one[ i am for Rogan] but how are ticket sales going hitman.:hi:
I think we got our o donnells mixed up , i think your talking about john. Anyone know anything about Simon?
Yeah he was in the uk sparring degale his gf had a baby and its not doing too well so hes at home now (he was due to be back in the states training now for a fight actually). hes a pretty good fighter degale had high praise for him when we were talking off the show. Ive heard some other good things about him.
That's a good question that has been puzzling myself for a while. I hope someone like Cormac can answer it. With just over two weeks to go, it seems unlikely that there will be any other Irish boxers on the card, which would in my opinion not go down very well with the Belfast fans. It was reported in yesterdays Sun newspaper that Scott Belshaw, Luke Wilton, Kevin O'Hara and Ciaran Healy would be boxing at the Odyssey on Rogan's undercard. MICHAEL GOMEZ RETIRES http://www.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/boxing-gomez-calls-time-with-no-regrets-1703909.html There's also a segment at the end of the piece about the promotion in Salthill. I know there has been a lot of negativity about this Southpaw show, but give them a chance. A promotional outfit based in Galway running regular shows there would be fantastic for the sport in that part of the country.
Give them a chance? I wish they had given themselves a chance! Liars, muppets, amateurs and arseholes are descriptions that spring to mind. 1. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055526744 2. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055529705 3. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055531619
