At 130lbs, I see Marquez just being the more effective puncher and winning a fairly close decision, probably 7-5 or 8-7, depending on the number of rounds. Marquez could be stopped by Arguello, but I think Marquez is the better boxer of the two, so if it actually goes the distance, which I think it would, I can't see Arguello coming out on top.

There aren't many fantasy fights between two better boxers, I don't think.

Arguello with his power and precision punching would be too much for JMM,Alexis by KO.

Bit of a pick'em but I'd have to go for Alexis given his punching power and JMM's trips to the canvas against Barrera and Pacquiao.

I certainly don't think he has even the capabilities of outboxing him(no stylistic advantage whatsoever), and would be stopped prior to having a chance to do so anyway. Arguello KO6.

Arguello would KO Marquez for sure, no doubt at all.... & I dont even think he would be behind on points while doing it to be honest.

Arguello hits twice as hard as Pacquiao who put JMM down 4 times in 2 fights, he wouldnt get up any more than twice vs Alexis.

Arguello was at his best at 130. Although never a strength, his speed and mobility was as good as it got (for Arguello) at 130. He would outbox, control, and stop Marquez I'd say before the 10th.

Arguello would stop him, Marquez doesn't have a great defence and against a puncher with the accuracy, power and finishing ability of Arguello it wouldn't be pretty.

Arguello fell behind on points to poorer fighters than Marquez. I think Marquez would have a slight lead before the equalizer. I am a big JMM fan, but AA's power v JMM's defence = KO.

Arguello's laser right hand is far too accurate and far too powerful.

I think he'd stop JMM inside 6 rounds.

JMMis a warrior but dosent have the greatest of defences but he is a good counter puncher with reasonable power and good chin and beautiful balance and footwork and is regarded as one of the best in his time

Arguello is a great boxer with tremendous power, granite chin, brillaint footwork and regarded as one of the best boxers ever

    theres no competition

I see the same thing everyone else does -- Alexis shooting the right hand and it finding it's mark again and again. JMM fights back valiantly, scoring, but frankly, is outgunned.

Arguello TKO8. It would be a better fight than the result suggests.
