borderline for sure. He's one of the best today but IMO the real elites are JMM, Pac, Hopkins, Mosley. Cotto is a real good fighter who can hang with these guys but before i call him elite he has to do it a little more often.

Just IMO. I have Cotto at p4p #5

Yes, he is. Even when he lost to Margie I thought he was. With the recent revelation that Margie is in the same league as the illegal handwrap master himself Cheato Trinidad, we have to look at Cotto more favorably after his loss.

of course.....he's on his way to a HOF worthy career, a very good resume for someone who's been in as long as he has, and he's always looking to improve on it, and his in-ring abilities are obvious as well, he's top 10 in the sport right now, lets hope he finds himself a proper trainer

nope. there are some weight divisions that really suck and have a shortage of top-class talent. there are some divisions with top 5 guys that are only C to B level. these fighters aren't surely elite.

but Cotto is certainly an Elite A level fighter.

At present yes, he's elite. In an all time sense you have to measure him against other welterweights like Robinson, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Benitez, et, so no, not in an all time sense.
