    :bbbFolks,

Let's get down to it..... Is Haye better than Gomez? Okay, we all know Gomez was just TKO'd by V.K. a couple of weeks ago; all that aside is Dave Haye any better than Juan Gomez in the skill and toughness dept.??
    :huh
I know Haye looks more fit as a heavy, compared to the softer Gomez... But what about skills and durability?? Gomez took a beating from V.K. and showed his heart in doin' so..... Can or will Dave Haye be any tougher of a challenge to younger bro. Wlad???
    :huh

    Yes.
A lot more power, better reflexes, an impetuous style (but not an impregnable defense) and, he actually shows up in shape for all of his fights.

What we don't know is how much of a beating he can take. My guess is the winner will be whoever can GIVE the better beating.

Haye is chinny certainly, but I think he surpasses Gomez in speed, power, and balls.

I think Gomez is more durable but Haye has superior technical ability and speed.

I never liked Gomez, but Gomez proved to be a tuff cookie and a decent boxer in general........

This may be far-fetched, but Juan C. Gomez kinda' reminds me of a new version of Carlos DeLeon....... A cagey fighter with skill, but never going to please a crowd or win over new fans......

Well unlike Gomez Haye is young and his physical PRIME, that alone makes him better. BTW Diaz smokes Gomez in 1 yrs back so I don't think hes more durable than Haye either.

LOOK! Haye is making a HUGE mistake if he thinks Wlad Klit is the same reckless fighter of 2003 / '04......... Klit is not........ W.K. may've adapted a "Safety" first approach over the last few yrs, but it has proven effective.... I think Haye is in deep **** once he realizes that Klit is now too skilled and experienced to fall into any traps......... KLIT BY KO!!

I hear you, but I'll take an aging vet who is in shape over a young puppy with greeness in his arsenal any day.......... Gomez is indeed aging at 35, but he is still young enough to fight..... BUT!! I was not happy with his soft look at 230 pounds.....

    That's an insult to Haye.

Honestly I'd rather watch a fighter get blasted out in 1 throwing bombs
then watch someone with a starter's pistol get his ass kicked for 10+ Rds.

Haye is what the division needs.
    Gomez is what killed it.

I wonder sometimes if Wladimir would be occasionally better served by reverting to the flashy fighter he was early in his career rather than always being so careful. Against Ibragimov for example, it would have been nice to see him get flashy and stop Sultan. I doubt Haye will win.

Gomez had over 300 amateur fights. I remember him when he sparred at Universum. He would knock Haye out. I have zero doubt about that. Gomez is much more skilled than Haye. The haters are simply delusional with hate and sour grapes.
