    Guess Who?

He is based out of Tampa......

    Winky's Trainer, DAN BIRMINGHAM

Arum stated Manny Steward is unable to commit because Klitcho's fight and Cotto wants to train in Florida and its a perfect fit.
    Thoughts on Birmingham????

You will see confirmation on this shortly in the upcoming week, Cotto leaving to Florida next wednesday!

    lol, God Bless!

Word is that Cotto went to Evangelista and asked him to move camp to Florida but Cotto possibly knew that Evangelista would decline; leading to him no longer being his trainer. Sadly the events turned ugly for everone involved.

    Thoughts on Birmingham?????

I wondered if Cotto had someone in mind from the very beginning. This is happening very quickly. He was able to fire his uncle 'with cause' and his uncle has made it almost impossible to reverse now.

Cotto knows how to fight, he just needs good conditioning, and someone he is comfortable with. You don't want to change him, maybe a tweak or two, or show him some different ways to do things----but a smart trainer will let guy who is good like Cotto be himself if that makes Cotto comforatble. If you show him some new stuff, and it doesn't take, you drop it. Just get him in sahpe and sharp for fights, and don't **** up in corner. Having a guy who's been there (The big fights) will ensure that. If Birmingham is choice, it' s good.

Training a fighter who doesn't have a trainer? Polishing defense, making use the underrated Cotto jab better? You know, training things.

Honestly Birmingham and Cotto have been tied together for what feels like YEARS at this point. Once a year we read about Cotto leaving Evangelista to go and train with Dan Birmingham down in Florida. I guess it'll finally happen at this point.

Personally my choice would've been Manny Steward and it seems like Arum reached out to Steward as well. Steward fighters (at least those who he gets through to) are known for being tremendous jabbers, having tremendous skills with clinching (something Manny Steward harps on) and being effective for over 12 rounds. Don't be surprised if once Klitschko's schedule clears up after Haye-Wlad is through, that the rumors start building up.

Cotto could do with learning to clinch, so Steward would be ideal.
