Same here, this fight is a bad idea for everyone.

Still, it could happen. Adamek is in it for the money. I've seen/read 2 interviews with his wife and she's always whining how they don't have enough money and how her and their children's fates depend on Tomasz and his boxing. She's not saying she's concerned about his health mind you, she just wants him to bring big bucks. In such circumstances he could very well agree to this fight now that Golota finally got the bait.

Golota can't seem to keep his friends for very long. First Dariusz Michalczewski and now Adamek. Neither really have much to lose. If Golota loses, so what, he's a 41 year old hasbeen. If Adamek loses, so what, he's fighting WAY out of his weight class. I'm a big fan of both so it'd be hard to watch but I'd have to root for the big guy.

 

Golota at one time had EXCELLENT leg and head movement. He moved like an athlete. Then around the Tyson debacle I began noticing Golota no longer had those great legs and body movement he possessed while being trained under Duva. He's big, slow and lumbering now and has been for nearly ten years. If you look at the Corey Sanders and Grant fights and compare how he moves in the Tyson and Orlin Norris fight, it's literally night and day difference.

 

Still ... is Vitaly or Valuev moving faster than current Golota?
Golota's problem isn't his speed right now but he is not fighting smart
he must learn how to defend himself in the first round when
the other guys want to knock him out.

 

It's rather hard to happen. I really doubt that some coach can teach Golota better defense in the first part of fight, cuz it's not because of his technic. He looks like he's got a stick of broom in ass and after first rounds this stick breaks. Dunno how to repair this, cuz imo it's dependend on his mentality, but is there any psychologist who can fix such a stuff of Golota ? Andrew has beaten more than 40 fights and it would be so difficult to change his way of beggining the fight. He's not so young and this habit is not fixable, I think. Andrew should retire.

Adamek - Golota fight is not a step forward for Adamek, also Andrew has nothing to offer and will not gain anything.

I agree Adamek - Golota should not happen ... until Golota is able
go down below 200lb and challenge Adameks Ring title at CW

As for improving Golota in first round? The only thing is that he should
learn a few defensive tricks ... like fighting backward and counter punch
or some in / out moves which will get him out of the punching range.
Golota is never moving out right now ... either pressing forward or
standing still and covering - its bad move for someone who is
prepared to knock him out ....

 

But I'm almost sure that he knows that he has to move, but Idk maybe pressure or stress (he shouldn't be stressed if he's been in the ring for 20 years +), but it's possible and that lets me think that he will not improve his way of fighting. He was supposed to be in the best shape before Austin fight, everyone from his team was saying so, however he was not - we all know how it ended (3rd second and was down). Andrew thank you for what you have done, but it's nuff.

 

It's not enough just yet. But why is he thinking about Adamek? I'll give him another chance but he needs maybe Gmitruk in his corner... someone to light a fire under his ass. Like I said before, when Golota was in China he was focusing on playing with panda bears while Austin was focusing on killing.

 

WOW!!! I Have a feeling the final chapter of Golotas carer will be the most bizarre of all his episodes yet!!

I mean hes 41 and hell bent on accomplishing something big!!

I agree completely. More than anything I just wouldn't want to see Golota end his career on a loss like that too Austin.

He could beat Botha at this point, and there isn't anything wrong with winning a heavyweight belt even if it is from the WBF.

Most think this ol' beat up clunker is out of commission after every Golota debacle. But it doesn't take long to crank that engine once again and start putt-puttin' along. It just wont DIE.
