Wih the recent announcement that Purse bids have been called for a clash between Tony Quigley and Paul Smith, should Dodson be given another shot, or has he had his chance, and should Paul Smith be given a chance to show what many people think he is, the best british SMW, bar probably magee, and froch?

Let Smith have his chance for sure - although im sure im not alone in thinking smith could get down to middleweight, actually so could Quigley.

seems to be a bit of bad blood between quigley and Smith - would like to see SMith winning and defending against magee

It's Smiths time. He really needs to buck his ideas up. He clearly has the quality to win the lonsdale belt.

Let Smith fight Quigley, Dodson fights Magee the winners face each other. Everyones a winner

yeah i reckon he should get another shot, but he might have to wait his turn now tho cos quigley's gonna be a bit of a wanted man at the minute with having the british title. i'd like to see him in with smith next then magee or dodson again.

Best solution all roun i agree! I just think it is time smith was given this oppotunity so that people can see what he is about, and people can stop saying he hasn't beaten anyone of note. Ok quigley in my opinion is not a great british champ, and was lucky in my opinion as dodson was winning the fight.
Think the real decider would be if smith eventually got a shot at magee

Paul Smith will make Quigley look silly. Easy easy easy fight...

Quigley is abit fat and out of shape at middle weight, tell me what that is a sign of..?

    Yes he did..

It was a primative fight Dodson vs Quigley...

Paul Smith is slick and he will shine Quigley's shoe's..then knock him the **** out..!

  11. Kool I've noticed you're an over-opinionated idiot with no knowledge. You do my ****ing head in.

Could you try and be ****ing objective you wally.

Calling Quigley out of shape? Was Foreman out of shape when he dropped Moorer? Seriously?

    Behave your ****ing self son.

Quigley could beat about 4 versions of Paul Smith I've witnessed with my own eyes in the flesh. A Paul Smith on top form stops Tony in my opinion but Paul would probably tell you himself that he has seldom hit top form in the last 3-4 years. Like I said BEFORE the Dodson fight (when people were calling it 80-20 in Dodson's favour), Smith-Quigley would be too close to call.

Dodson should go for a 6 rounder against a decent level opponent before he goes for another shot at the belt plus it depends on how his cut heals.

Smigga won't need to be on top form in my opinion to beat Quigley. He doesn't lack power, but he also does not lack skill or technique. You don't have a successful amateur career without having a combination of those three.
Paul has definately not lived up to his potential all the time in the last 3-4 years, but wins over the experianced Johnathan reid, Touted David Banks, and Rashid Matumla, who by the way has competed at world level suggest that Paul performs when his class is stepped up.
Quigley has in terms of fights and experiance had half the career Paul has had. He was getting comprehensively beaten by Dodson until he stopped him. Although Paul, as he has put it, has stunk the place out a few times, he has never been in fight where he was being beaten so convincingly that it has been a surprise when he has won a fight. Even his loss against Steve Bendall was judged by pretty much everyone ring side to have been one of the worst points decision in 2008.
Paul'sa career had a temporary blip when he had yank gimp features Buddy Mcgirt training him. During that time, the agression seemed to be drained out of him.
Quigley wasn't even being considered for the British tittle until magee pulled out. You can't take away from quigley the fact he stopped his man, and when he did it was cracking. Brilliant fight. But Dodson had his man rocked a few times in the fight. The simple fact is a good finisher like Smigga who has the power and instinct to know when his man is hurt, would have gone in for the kill, and finished quigley.
When the fight happens, my prediction is tko 4-6 rounds. Quigley is so out of his depth it is embarrasing

I would not say that Paul Smith hits any harder than Tony Dodson and he never managed to get Quigley out of there all this talk of Smith being some kind of ko artist is ****, he has a KO% of 55 which i would say is average he's def not a massive puncher. This will be a decent fight cause they are both pretty equal in terms of abilty, the only differance is Smith has had almost double the fights but when you look at who he has fought, its doesnt really matter after all cause he's not fought one decent fighter. I think Quigley will win on points, Smith just doesnt have it.
