Wow.. I dont care how good Kessler is, hes not going to be "KOing" someone the caliber of Taylor with a long layoff that hes currently in. You guys act as if Jermaine is getting knocked out every other fight. Also, 5 out of last 8 fights have been against guys like Winky, Pavlik and Hopkins. No stranger to big fights.. The Kessler love is a little too much sometimes.
Toopretty is speaking the gospel truth.:deal The general tenor of these Taylor/Kessler threads usually makes it sound as if Kessler would just walk through JT and take him out. The logic behind this thinking seems to be that if Pavlik beat him, surely Mikkel would demolish him. Banish the thought. Boxing just does not work that way. Styles make fights, and Pavlik is not only WAY more agressive than Kessler, he also has a much better educated left hand. I might tend to favor Kessler in this one, but not by much.
Personally, I'll wait till after the Froch fight to determine where I would place JT in the division, but that said, Kessler ain't doing squat and should soon get downgraded sooner or later.
I wouldn't say Pavlik's jab is any better than Kessler's. They're both stiff and sharp - Kessler basically knocked Haussler out with a jab!
I said "better educated left hand," not better jab. In my opinion Kessler has one of the best jabs in the business, and due to the size difference, it's probably stiffer than Kelly's. With Pavlik an opponent can never be sure what he is up to with his left: is going to tap with it, is he going to use it like a jackhammer, is going to throw a jab that turns into a hook at the last instant, et, et? Kessler does not mix it up like that.
Sorry. The Pavlik has a more educated left hand part? I think Kesslers jab is significantly faster and more accurate.
I agree with everything you said. But that imo does not make it better educated rather more varied. I think Kessler times his oponents better with the jab (or occasional left hook) you do not see him miss often. I think Kesslers is also harder to read.
Kessler would knock taylor's ass out of the ring. Your talking about facing an elite European fighter here. Kessler KO 5.
:rofl:rofl No, no its not. The guy is the most constant 1,2 fighter in the game. You know its coming and its not like he lands it flush. Maybe against guys that come in head first like Andrade but nobody who also posses a slick jab IE JT. Would get deterred. Pavlik is different. Pavlik does not try to set up other shots from his jab. His jab can hurt you. Kessler is far quicker but he is equally as one dimensional as Kelly double the jab Pavlik.
