I think it's a good idea. They should have made it about a fiver though... a tenner for a stream is a no go...

Maybe they have just done this stream for people who do not subscribe to setanta (if they get the fight), at least thats what I hope.

Junior Witter sounded pissed off with Hennessy on the boxing hour last week as well. Blaming him for not getting a rematch with Bradley.

    Great points from Gaz S.

After his career reaches a high point by winning a world title, it now seems to be going backwards - what sort of top flight boxer has his fights broadcast on an obscure internet website?

Not only does it let the fans down and make less money for Froch and Hennessey, it could give casual fans the impression that Froch isn't worthy of being on Sky or Setanta. Most won't even know he is fighting.

In the end, the fact that a British boxer fighting a top opponent for a world title won't get a TV deal in his own country is a disgraceful state of affairs.

At least it gives us an opportunity to watch it. I would have been more gutted in no one was showing it at all.

If it has to be via a stream to watch it then so be it. It's not what I would prefer but hey, I'll make the most of it. I'm actually just pleased to be able to watch our boy live.

I'm almost with you on this mate - I was saying that on here last night.

The PPV site has to be either Plan C or a way of getting Setanta to stop sitting on their hands I reckon.

Did you notice that ITV were previewing this fight on their Big Fight Review show next weekend. It may of course be that it gives them a good excuse to show some of the good footage they've got of Froch but perhaps.....

This would be my primary concern. I don't mind shelling out the tenner for this fight but I would want the stream to be near TV quality.

  15. How many buys does Hennesy think he is going to get with this ??

The only advertisment i have seen is on itv4 big fight on friday.

I think best case scenario is maybe a couple thousand subscribers if that !!! at £10 whats that £20/30k

But most will just go to watch a free showtime stream on a dodgy site
