Yes, I said crush. I love PBF, I think he's great. But, the guy who beat Winky tonight would beat PBF hands down. Now, this matchup will never happen of course, because PBF knows better than to actually get in the ring with Paul, but it's still fun to think about. It's too bad PBF only seems interested in a fight with Manny Pac because I think we'd all like to see him really challenge himself against someone like Cotto or Williams. Anyways, what do you guys think? Could PBF really render all of Paul's intangibles useless? Could he really come up with a defensive strategy to off-set Williams' punch output? I just don't see it.
**** yeah he would.....floyd does not have the power to even make paul think twice about whaling in on him....his couter punching wont even be an issue, carlos was able to do it cause he has better angles, foot work and took a lot of risks...
Well, there's a reason nobody wants to fight Williams... tonight, he confirmed those fears and then some! I can't see PBF having the desire to be forced into that frenetic a pace. With the sheer volume, there's not much to work off of except making your inside game superior to his or countering in big big flurries. It can be done, but not without huge risk. Maybe if PW tricks people into thinking he's affected by the weight jumps, calls will finally start coming in.
Floyd will run. Hit him a couple of times. Win UD. I'd rather watch Floyd than Williams too. Williams is very boring to me.
You said it best: "took a lot of risks". That ain't PBF's game. Floyd would be lost when he realized his pot-shotting attempts against Williams were met with multiple punch combos. Paul's jab would have Floyd confused and left on the outside. Floyd would probably spend the first six rounds trying to figure out what to do, and by that point, it would be too late. Also, P-Dub has improved dramatically since the fight Q fight. At least, in my eyes he has. This fight with Winky was his coming out party as far as I'm concerned. I saw the talent, the intangibles, etc. just like everyone else, but, I didn't think he had really put it all together before tonight's fight. Winky was not 'shot', Paul just beat the fight out of him. Tonight, Paul made me a believer.
'Getting the fight beaten out of him' might be a little unfair. Winky didn't run for a corner until about 10 seconds before the final bell. Granted, he was beat up! His neck's going to be nasty for a while with how swollen the muscle got from the spine scraping so much so often; even eating cottage cheese is going to hurt something fierce!
I dont think a natural 140 pounder like Floyd who is 5'8" should fight a natural 154 - 160 pounder like Williams who is 6'1". The size difference is too great and Floyd knows it, I think Floyd should go after a Pacman or JMM before trying to beat a naturally bigger man who is as good as Williams. I thought Williams fought very well tonight and should try to unify all belts at 154 lbs, then go after the Middleweight crown in a couple of years.
Williams I would honestly and fully favor to beat Floyd clearly at 147. Floyd would be having ****ing nightmares. No amount of cute defense is going to Williams from running him down.
wow this is what makes this site funny is people that post **** like this lol. I am not a mayweather fan but lets be realistic.
Williams range and output would be enough to get him the nod, but it wouldn't really look that bad for Floyd considering the contrast in size.
