If Hatton was say 100% at his peak in 2005 Now in 2009 I would say he is 70% of the fighter he was good enough to still beat most fighters around his weight but Manny Pac is a special "elite pound for pound fighter"
Well he must have been one hell of a fighter in 2005 to be still getting by in world class at 70%. ****ing "elite"...grrrrrr.....;O)
I see nothing changes on here then. It kind of got lost in your new and exciting debate about Hatton's standing in the boxing world but I did post some actual analysis about his next fight. Which I assumed (foolishly?) this thread was about.
Yeah well I say 70% now - which means he is slipping all the time Like he was say 85% when he clung on for dear life against Collazo He was 80% against Mayweather when he was laid out Then he was say 75% in his sluggish comeback after Mayweather KO him He was 72% against Mallingingi but he had a easy fight Now for this fight 70% against a dangerous fighter Hatton gets stopped again:deal
Hatton isnt slipping. He's just performed worse as his competition has got better. This is what happens when you make a padded career fighting bums.
Sorry Dan but any post with the term "brutal KO" in it just gets skimmed.... BTW if you look back on page 1, I tried to post a few sensible thoughts on the fight myself until Scurla hijacked the thread with his usuall BS, he's the man you should be having a pop at.
I was having a pop at all of you really. I do apologise for the use of the world 'brutal' but I stand by it. I know it's use has been hijacked by 'haters' from the general forum but it's very apt for the way I see this fight finishing. I think Hatton's static head will be punished by Pacqiaou's straight accurate punches in the later rounds when Hatton has got frustrated and is no longer sticking to the gameplan.
I agree Dan, if Hatton gets rattled then he's in big trouble but at the same time if Pac doesn't get the same time he got against Diaz and Oscar then so is he. They showed Pac camp last night on 24/7 and it all looked very professional and well thought out.
Pac takes training very seriously and I expect him to be immense shape come fight night. Hatton too though looks to be in fantastic shape given how far we still are from the fight. I think that' testament to how tough a challenge he knows he's in for. I'm really looking forward to the fight, I think it could be one to remember.
