I know this is far fetched since Calzaghe is retired, but just to say that Calzaghe does come back, he stands a chance to fight some pretty good fighters.

I've made a short list of fighters who Calzaghe would match up well against and you guys tell me what you think and add some names if you'd like.

It just seems ridiculous for this man to retire at this point in time when he has the chance to further improve his legacy over here in the US.

The wins against Hopkins and Jones were OK, but lets see whats up with some of these young bucks out there. And the risk is minimal because I don't see anyone on my list knocking Joe out.

    Rematch Hopkins
    Dawson
    Glenn Johnson
    Kelly Pavlik
    Arthur Abraham
    Lucian Bute
    Paul Williams

Hopkins would beat him (again). That's why he will never be back.

i guess floyd & calzaghe got tired of boxing at the wrong point

they both had a plethora of options and just gracefully bowed out

floyd - cotto, shane, jmm, margarit, oscar x2, pw, hatton x2, clottey, berto,
calz - bhop x2, dawson, glenn johnson, tarver (ew), pw, bute, aa

oh well... the sport is moving without em

**** the B-Hop rematch, terrible fight
Dawson's a good entertaining fight but possibly too much risk/too little reward
Glenn Johnson - would be fun to watch Joe school him but he already beat a better opponent in Hopkins
Pavlik - Good fight to watch but his stock is down following the Hopkins defeat.
Abraham - One sided/not enough incentive.
Bute - Like fighting his clone. Risk/reward
Williams - Good fight but the public will say why beat up a WW if he wins & if he were to lose...

Floyd's reason was because he was waiting for someone to build themselves up and better the financial part of the fight.

I was hoping Cotto stayed undefeated because that wouldve been a good fight to watch ... Cotto is still out there because of the Margarito situation, and if he keeps winning the fight can still happen.
People knew that at some point in time that Mayweather would come back, it was only a matter of when.

Calzaghe's situation, is something that I don't know about, because although his legacy is set in Europe, its still shitty that he didn't show the US fans everything he had to offer, because he had fights where he had faced adversity and came back and gave the fans a great show.

We haven't seen that with Calzaghe and it would be nice to see it ... I would like to see him fight atleast 3 more fights ... and it doesn't have to be against Hopkins ...
it could be against Dawson, Williams, and Bute or Abraham.

I really want to see him fight against Bute !!

    Hopkins wins SD
Dawson wins SD or late TKO
    Johnson loses UD
    Pavlik loses UD
    Abraham loses UD
    Bute loses UD
PW fight won't happen. (only fighter at the higher weights that throws as much if not more than Calz)

I don't think Floyd has the balls to face Cotto.

yeah i was hoping cotto would make it as well.... margarito comlpetely ruined it.. cause cotto would have bodied oscar..

but i dont expect calzaghe to come back... it would be great to see him come back against dawson or williams tho but its all good.... i've lost the lust to see floyd or calz come abck really....as much as i want to see floyd come back and calzaghe lose (which probably wouldnt happen) there so much great **** happening in boxing right now

How crazy would that have been to see Cotto whoop Margarito, then whoop Oscar, then have a much anticipated showdown with Floyd Mayweather?

I think that Calzaghe will come back, but its depends on who his future opponent could be.

All potential Oscar fights are out the window now b/c of Pac. I would be hesitant to even watch ODH on HBO... Not even bringing up the fact that Dela would want to fight on PPV. He is a dead horse even if he doesn't retire.
