I agree with you and I reckon it pisses them right off that people are just moving on

I dont see why Calzaghe doesnt have some more fights at all really, well obviously hes scared of losing his 0 but an 0 isnt everything

I agree. There are no more 90's superstar boxers left to beat. He is too old to fight the prime fighters. He doesn't want to end up like Tarver.

Without wishing to be cynical..... there aren't any opponents that are old enough and shot enough that are credible opponents...

In truth, he has had one eye on retirement for a while, since he won the title from Kessler really - his legal issues with Warren only soured his attitude toward boxing.

It's a shame he was too eager to stay on the Sports Network gravy train, because he could have been much greater.

I know you weren't asking me but because there are no huge names like Hopkins or RJJ around. He's also pretty old and has always wanted to retire before becoming shot.

    I agree with Dinamita.

Whilst the fight was close..... when you are decked in the 1st and lose the next three rounds pretty clearly, you have to win every round to emerge victorious.

Granted Calzaghe won most of the next 8 rounds, he was still 1-2 short.

From memory I scored it 115-113 to Bernard (or 114-113) one or the other.

Always thought Cal stopped boxing simply because he wanted to; I've never gotten the impression that he cared at all about his legacy or forcing us Americans to love him.

I really liked his ability to adapt his style mid-round as well as spoil the styles of others. His attitude is what annoyed me and the current fiance-ish girl hated him something fierce because she couldn't stand the open-handed shoeshines (all right... I'll say it... slapping).
