Youve got ot be kidding, Cotto and Berto would be two of the easiest wins on here, just based on size alone. Im sorry, as much as I like those two fighters, there short little bodies wouldnt be able to touch the 6'3 Punisher. Youll be looking at a foot reach advantage or more, not to mention the sheer volume of punches paul is throwing. The man just shut out Winky Wright last night, whens he gonna get some credit.
He gets credit, but don't hype him too much - it is possible that PW can't match the hype against the two top dogs. He is a very good fighter, but he has yet to prove how he handles punching power - and both Pavlik and AA have plenty of it.
I simply don't think Pavlik is all that good. Abraham would be a pretty bad styles matchup.... but Pavlik.... nah! Taylor was standing Pavlik on his head in the 1st fight until gassing, and outboxed him in the 2nd..... arguably earning a draw, whilst nobody needs to mention the Hopkins fight - we all know what happened. I made a tidy profit from that one as well!
Yet Quintanna smoked his sorry ass once! this guys is not invincible you just have to take it to his ass.....James Kirkland !!!!!I want to see someone all over PW trying to scalp his ass and have him survive, Forget boxing him, go in throwing bombs to the body get up in his chest and push him around, someone needs to get all over him like a cheap suit otherwise this guy will jab and work his way to victory every time.
As one of AA's biggest fans I've to say that you're wrong. Pav has an excellent workrate and very good power. He has great stamina as well. It isn't only luck that his KO ratio is higher than that of AA. AA is the one who knocks you out with 1 or 2 punches, Pavlik needs more time, but his style is more effective. I repeat myself, but look at his fantastic KO ratio. He is _not_ overrated, he is that good.
I don't see a bad styles matchup, only in Williams favour if any. His high work rate and huge reach advantage should take him to a win over the low work rate of Abraham. Like I said if he can deal with spurts and avoid big counter left hooks, he can take a wide decision.
Obviously you are entitled to your opinion, and I am to mine! If Pavlik goes on to make himself into a legend, I will be happy to eat some humble pie, but just don't see it happening. There isn't sufficient opposition to do so at 160, and at 168 he will be less effective IMO, against better opponents.
i voted for all. I mean even Pavlik and especially Abraham he has a good chance though i wouldn't make him the favorite
How is he gonna avoid big counter left hooks and rights from Abraham when he gets repedeatily hit with htem in almost all of his fights? Will he magically get a defense?
You nailed it. This is why Pavlik would be a stylistic nightmare for Paul. Nazim Richardson said it best; "Kelly's comin'. An ass whoopin don't mean **** to Kelly Pavlik. He's comin." KP would suck Paul into a war of attrition, and send him home in about 5 rounds.
And with PW's lack of power, Abraham and Pavlik have all the defense they need. Lots of arm punches by Williams against Wright. I think Taylor has more hand speed. Pavlik can match Williams work rate, he has done it in past fights, but he has much more power at 160.
