I think it would be a close, good fight.

Cotto on a stoppage or Williams on points. I lean towards Williams on points.

Williams vs Pavlik is what I wanna see. WIlliams should stay at middle/ supermiddle and really prove his wroth at a more natural weight. I think he can do it with that workrate. He'd outhustle pavlik for sure.

That would be a damn good fight.
Both present problems for eachother.Would be nice.
Depends on what mental situation Williams comes in.

This is not Hagler/Hearns. Hagler was the natural big guy here and Cotto is a former 140 pound fighter. Can you imagine a welterweight Hearns taking on a Hagler who was moving up from 140? Tommy would knock him out in one or two.

It could last as long as the Hearns/Hagler fight, but honestly... Cotto's best hope to beat Williams is to have Paul struggle greatly with weight and hope the real Williams doesn't show up.

    Yeah but Cotto can't box.

Take away the left hook and there isn't much left. How Sugar Shane lost to him.... I'll never quite know.

Cotto was known as a counter puncher earlier in his career rather than a pressure fighter. He's a good boxer.

Perhaps I was a little harsh in saying that Cotto can't box.... but I don't see him as a BOXER - more of a puncher/pressure fighter.

With his stamina issues I see his future as a puncher as he is fairly heavy handed, at 147 he has stopped everyone bar the granite chinned Mosley and Margarito.....

This won't be Hagler vs Hearns.... perhaps Hearns (Williams) vs the Benn that fought Michael Watson!
