i gotta say something about PW. I usually don't care about a fighter's personality and try to stick to only waht i see inside the ring, but PW is one of those fighters that i just like for who he is and how he acts.

I did like that Williams has a wife and kids. Looks like a really nice family. I liked that.

james kirkland or kelly pavlik, just need to see pw against a home run hitter.cause i think hes a great fighter but i think he can get koed by some of the home run kings in the 3 divsions hes trying to fight at.mainly 154 and 160 hitters.i dont think he can be beat at 147 buy the bertos, clottey, cottos, mosley or even mayweather.

I like how he didn't make any excuses after the Quintana loss. He accepted it, got back to work and has been on a roll since.

I'd want Kirkland to have 2 fights before facing Paul Williams to gain experience in putting combinations together against a mobile target. They both have crazy endurance, but Kirkland probably has an edge there. I don't see PW able to hurt Kirkland (or Williams stopped with a single punch - a knockdown, maybe); he'd have to learn more footwork and get on the bike.

I am buying it and mentioned it many times based on his ability not just his opponent. So far Williams is doing nothing but impressing with what he's capable of doing in the ring.

you know, i thought that compu-box was off yesterday...the fight stats ended with Paul landing 23% of his shots...that's almost 1 out of 4. It seemed more like 1 out of 7 or 8. Was it just me or did most of those shots get caught by winky's gloves? I know he had to have caught some with his face because he looked like he had been in a fight.

The early body shots on the semi-retired body brought Winky's elbows down enough that Williams could split the guard from the 5th round and on. With Winky's defensive style, those type of punches look blocked from most every angle except over-the-shoulder shots. The judges probably missed them as well.

So you don't think Clottey, Cotto, Mosley, Berto or Mayweather can beat him at 147, yet you are not "Buying it" ... in regards to williams.

    :patsch

You do realize he is a welterweight , and you think he can beat all of the best welterweights , yet you are not "buying it"

    WTF :-:)think
