    it the other way round....

hopkins agrees to fight calzaghe for 4 million only to turn around the next day and demand 8 million- 2001ish

Roy Jones Jr asks eubank about JC and is told to avoid - 2002ish

i have no qoutes, but these are true

You guys are funny...Williams fought a 37 year old fighter, who hasn't fought in two years and is a natural 154lb fighter with no power, and didn't hurt him once.

I can't believe anyone would take a Calzaghe/Williams fight seriously. Sergio Martinez would destroy Williams.

He called out a guy who is retired...how convenient.
Why didn't he call out any of the very "live" fighters at 154?

James Kirkland, Alfredo Angulo, Daniel Santos, and Sergio Martinez would all be very tough fights for the slapping punisher...I didn't hear him mention anyone at 154...why not?

The second any American fighter 3 weights either side of SM wins, suddenly Calzaghe is avoiding them. Amazing. Let it go dude....

thank you, some sense at last! i dont see this fight being competitive either, and actually think williams would be in danger of being knocked out. all this hate for joe is pathetic, just leave the man be to enjoy his retirement cos he aint coming back.

Personally i like williams and when he rly goes at it hes pretty good and the way he commits to his punches is truly inspiring. HOWEVER he did fight a guy who hasnt fought for a year or two and even then winky was coming off a loss from bernard hopkins.

Now Joe would honestly beat williams or any fighter for that matter by a UD but hes retired and hasnt boxed since november and no one knows what kind of shape hes in.

Hes retired so leave him at that.

You make some good points. I really like WIlliams, but when he calls out everyone and claims to be avoided, then says certain fighters are below him (like Kirkland and Santos), makes him look like he's just chasing cash fights with bigger names.

    Answer the question, dude.

And try to do it rationally without name calling or foul language...if you're capable.

WTF has that to do with anything?

    No.

"Some to most" boxing experts don't think any such thing.

    Try listing a few.

Try aquainting yourself with the facts before you post.

    One more time:

Calzaghe was Pressing Hopkins for a matchup in 2002.

It was Hopkins who ducked out.

Here’s what the vice-president of Showtime said about it:

    "

    - Jay Larkin, then Showtime TV Network's Senior Vice-President of Sports and Event Programming.

    So Joe didn’t duck Bernard.

Bernard pulled the plug on Joe.

(IMO, not because he was scared of Joe. He was just too greedy).

Joe is retired and it would take BIG money to get him back in the ring. You could smear Williams with horse****, and he still wouldn't draw flies. Ain't happening. It's even more ridiculous than Abraham calling out Oscar.

In both cases, it was an unrealistic hope for a big payday.

Exactly, but it makes the fighters look foolish.
