Could Hatton won his fight with Mayweather if the referee was not Joe cortez?

Seems like people are underrating Hatton in his May 2nd fight..

I'm sure a lot of people will favor the hitman if he's still undefeated.

    Thoughts?

No, but it would have been more competitive, less scrappy, and more enjoyable to watch.

Cortez has been terrible in the past few years.

I think Hatton would have lost a UD to floyd, cortez did spoil the fight abit for Hatton, something I see cortez doing alot tbh.

This is my most unpopular opinion

Honestly, I think it would have gone the distance, Hatton is a phenomenal fighter on the inside and would have tried his hardest to find a solid liver shot, however PBF has great conditioning

If Hatton couldn't kill the body by the 10th - Mayweather SD
if he could - Hatton UD or late TKO

No, the result should be the same, but it could go to UD.

Hatton lost pretty much every round and was knocked out against Mayweather. Even if Ray Hatton was the ref Hatton would've still lost. U can't blame the ref when u get dominated and stopped. Hatton wasn't even landing clean punches.

with a lenient ref it would be closer, Hatton wasnt doing as badly as people make out for the first part of the fight

Id still go with floyd though, think hes just a class above.

    hmm says....
no... lots of other factors came into play.. improper gameplan, training, and weight.
Cortez just made the fight worst. I had it with Cortez after that Humberto Soto dq.

He could have beaten Mayweather....but he wouldnt have done.

As everyone else has said a Mayweather UD was probably the most logical outcome.

Well if Cortez wasn't the referree then the fact that Floyd is miles miles better than Hatton may have still played a part. Geezzz

    Um, NO!

Mayweather has been inactive for some time, but its not like he hasn't trained or hasn't kept sharp during that time!

I actually think Floyd would take care of business in quicker fashion next time out if he were to face Hatton again!

    I gave Hatton two...

But I feel if the fight was at 140 and with a different ref it would be close, but Maywhether is just better...

He would have lost but it would have gone the distance.

Hatton lost his composure after the ridiculous point deduction and Cortez did spoil the fight. Then in the Calzaghe/Hopkins fight he had no problem with Hopkins using the same dirty tactics that he tried so stop Hatton doing.

Cortez shouldn't be allowed to referee a world title fight ever again.
