If footage existed, which fight from yesteryear would you most want to see and why?

    So many to choose from, all the great fights that pre-dated the advent of moving pictures or for which no footage has survived. There are even those that occurred during the days of television but for some reason were never recorded.

    The fight I wish I could have seen most is Jack Johnson vs Sam Langford, in Chelsea, Mass. 1906. Would be nice to see which version of events is true, did Papa Jack toy with the Boston Tar Baby and give him a terrific beating or did Langford give Johnson all he could handle, explaining why a much sought-after rematch never came about?

    Yup. If I was given a second pick, it would be either the first or fourth Greb vs Tunney bout.

    Jack Johnson's fights before he won the heavyweight title.

    The matches against Sam Langford would have been something special to see.

    you know, i have read so much about him and only seen the one piece of footage available, i would like to have seen some of charley burley...i'd probably pick the fight where he put archie moore down 4 times...or the first ezzard charles fight...as they would be the two names from his record i would be most familiar with.
