The Williams of now. I'll give Williams the benefit of the doubt in regards to his defeat against Quintana.

To balance it up we're talking the Ray Leonard after first fight with Duran.

So, both fighters have one defeat on their resume, defeats that forced them to re-think their approach somewhat, they've re-grouped and matured. Who takes this fight?

I would probably go for Leonard too thinking about it.

For our next topic, we pit Sugar Ray Robinson versus Paul Malignaggi.

    Malignaggi TKO.

Too quick and elusive, Robinson has awful footwork and no offence, and therefore can't trouble the Magic Man, who's power would trouble Robinson.

Paul Williams is a really good fighter with freakish physical gifts and a freakish work rate. But Leonard would cut him in half to the body and Paul does have one bad flaw, he pulls out with his hands down often. This would get him KO'd at the time of Leonard's choosing.

This always seems to happens, a fighter beats another good fighter and we overrate him. Williams cannot compare with Ray. Leonard would knock him out. Easy enough also. He would work the body and chop him down. Ray was quick and had good power.

Quintana proved William's has a damned good win... He was making Paul into a bobblehead in there.

Still, Leonard's going to buzz him and then smell blood. Cue a LaLonde like exceution.

I know, but Williams is such a freak in terms of output and height/reach etc that I think the argument has legs.

I think in some ways people resent William's physical advantages and out of pure respect to Ray Leonard and principle, they don't want to entertain the thought of Williams doing a number on him.

I think Leonard would probably win it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Williams is just too big and active for Ray.
