Because Paul is so long, the first 2-3 rounds might be interesting. After that Joe figures him out and sweeps the board.
Paul does not use his height and reach. When you are crying out for him to use it against Verno Phillips after he gets cut...he prefers to fight at mid range and go to the body.
At 168 lbs I go with Calzaghe on points (8-3-1). If Paul was a natural 168 pounds then I dont know, it would be hard to pick. Even though Paul is a natural 154 pounds he still hits hard and could give Joe a problem especially with his height and reach, but since Joe is so comfortable and good at 168 I gotta give it to Calzaghe. However if they were the same weight, maybe Williams by close Decision.
Well if they did fight it would be up at 175lbs, seeing as Calzaghe cant make the weight anymore, so that takes even more away from Williams, Calzaghe would destroy the kid worse than he did Lacy.
I agree Paul is perfect at 154. Williams could beat some decent guys up at 168 but we're talking about putting Paul in against the best 168lb of all time.
Joe would probably win this...I juss can't see Joe losing to Paul at 168..I would like to see Paul at 168 one day though...
Joe could probably beat Williams and Wright same night! No challenge for Joe. Hopkins would beat Williams too!
PW isn't strong enough, really... The only guys that can take Calslappy are guys with a lot of power and intensity like Dawson, or Pavlik down at MW.
Calzaghe is a Tremendously overrated fraud and honestly I think even Paul Williams will make Joe Struggle,I say Williams by UD
If Cazlaghe fought again he would be loathe to do it below 175 and even if Calzaghe could get down to 168 he would be coming into the ring far heavier than that on the night. Anyone who can bully Hopkins at 175 on the inside and who throws even more punches than Williams himself would not be a good move for the Punisher as I can only see his natural physical advantages up to 160 being thrown back in his face. Somebody he could try at 168 is Bute, who is not remotely in Calzaghe's class, but would be an interesting experiment if Williams does want to go up that far.
