http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=19406&more=1 Who do you like in this one? I've never been impressed by Valuev at all, so I'm inclined to go with Chagaev by decision with the fight unfolding similarly to the first one. If the judges are competent, I expect Chagaev to win more clearly this time around. [/list]
I think it will be closer than last time, where Chagaev won about 9-3. The judging was inept or probably corrupt. Chagaev has been so inactive and wasn't so convicing in his return, so I'll say this one is closer but ultimately class will win.
Unfortunately for you my good sir, Ruiz is guaranteed a shot at the winner Honestly? I think Valuev takes this one. Time has not been good to Ruslan and I think those stories of him losing his eye sight severely are more true than false. He's looked slow, he looks susceptible to straight right hands and I get the feeling that his ring awareness is dropping as well. Valuev will do enough to "win" ultimately...probably in another one of those 7-5/8-4 tragedy scorecards.
I wish: "LAS VEGAS The World Boxing Association Championship Committee has declared two-time WBA heavyweight champion John The Quietman Ruiz (43-8-1, 29 KOs), presently rated No. 3, as the mandatory challenger for the winner of this years Ruslan Chagaev-Nicolai Valuev WBA title fight"
If Norman Stone was handling the John Ruiz corner, I'd consider watching. Otherwise **** that ****. Ruiz/Valuev III? Come on.
I believe Manny Siaca is his trainer now. Supposedly he's been holding less since he took on Siaca as a trainer, not that I've gone out of my way to see any of his recent fights. Anyway, I just really don't care. They're both third-rate boxers. Seriously, take a look at what Chagaev's recent opponents have gone on to do since he fought them, and consider that all of them have been close fights. If there was any justice in the world, neither of these guys would be top 10 heavyweights.
Against the journeyman HW, He was more aggressive. Against Valuev, He kind of went back to status quo. He did more work on the inside than normal but it's still the same old Ruiz. Except this time he doesn't have Norman Stone to cuss, fume and rant during rounds to entertain.
this pisses me off so much. ****ing ring-a-round of rematches holding that belt hostage, this has been going on since 2005. yeah thats 4 years.
